Edmonton Oilers prospect Justin Schultz, playing with the Oklahoma City Barons, was named the AHL Player of the Month for October.
Schultz, who made his professional hockey debut in October, recorded a point in each of his first seven games, totalling six goals and 12 points - leading the Barons in scoring.
Schultz, a coveted free agent after a strong collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin, signed with the Oilers over the summer.
Went to the Marlies/Heat game tonight..Scrivens let in 2 shorthanded goals within seconds of each other..the second was off the draw from center ice hahahha. Typical Leafs.

Oilers' farm team is in town next weekend, that would be fun to watch especially with Hall joining the team.
I had a good time watching the Heat and Wolves last year. They had the Panago package last season: 2 tickets, 2 slices of pizza, 2 pops, for 30 bucks. And it was toonie beer too.

I still don't get this whole 'make whole' business, not 100% anyways. So the way I understand it basically this is the same as the PA's 3rd offer of down to 50/50 right away, and all existing contracts are honoured to full value since it's now the owners bearing the make whole cost instead of the players.
If the owners were willing to make that concession, they should have done it at that time instead of trying to scrounge a few more million off the players.
I feel the season is done. A few weeks ago there was talk that if the winter classic got cancelled, the rest of the season would be canned as well because it was one game that drew in millions of dollars for the league in terms of revenue. I also heard Don Cherry a few days ago and how he talked to players and he felt the season was toast.

The Marlies were 44-24-5-3 last season. They had the fewest goals against with 175 with Scrivens league leading GAA of 2.04. They also made it to the AHL finals with heavy injuries. I don't believe that game was typical of the Leafs prospects as of late.
