as a NYR fan I am devastated that there hasn't been any hockey yet, especially after getting the last piece to the puzzle (Nash) I am dying to Brad Richards and Nash play together.

I am concerned about players overseas but especially Nash because he has had two injury scares overseas though Del Zotto left his team for "precautionary reasons" also

Lets see what this does

NHLPA GIVEN AUTHORITY TO FILE DISCLAIMER OF INTEREST

Several players have confirmed to TSN that the NHL Players' Association's membership voted overwhelmingly on Friday to give the union the power to file a disclaimer of interest by Jan. 2.

The NHLPA's executive board now has the option of dissolving their union - which would allow players to file a class-action anti-trust lawsuit against the league.

The NHL responded to news of the vote last Friday by filing a class action complaint seeking a declaration confirming the legality of the lockout along with an unfair labour practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board.

While the 30-member executive board of the NHLPA now has the green light to disclaim interest, there are no guarantees that it will do so.

NBA players filed a disclaimer of interest while they were locked out last season, but the players and the league ended

SkinnyPupp 12-21-2012 05:52 PM

Shit that almost makes it sound like the end of the NHL itself!

UFO 12-22-2012 10:51 AM

It does at first, but its just a formality so the players can then sue the owners for an illegal lockout since they are no longer a 'union' officially. Basically a bargaining ploy, since the players will reunionize as soon as they have an agreement.

Hondaracer 12-22-2012 11:12 AM

Just cancel the season already, let the fucking league die so both sides can see they fucked up

Pretty excited to watch some WJC hockey this upcoming week. Drouin seems like he's going to be a stud one day.

This was before the twins become elite players. (Hart And Art Ross Winners)

Verdasco 12-23-2012 12:59 AM

Cherish what we have today. In the future, we will NEVER experience what we have ever again. Like Bure, his own unique skillset and play, the sedins will follow the same step to becoming hall of famers in the future, mark my words. Fuck i miss markus naslund wrist shot when he was scoring 40goals+ season :okay: and alexander mogilny

:QQ: i cry sleeping tonight :tears:

this video was touching, felt like trevor linden was talking like the sedins have retired, trevor will probably say the same thing :joy:

Hondaracer 12-23-2012 11:13 AM

Honestly i was the biggest Naslund fan but the way he finished his career here was disgraceful, pretty horrible captain when you look at the guys people consider "great" captains imo..

Sedins dont have the toughness to lead us back to a cup so unless the grit and role players are brought in to support them we will never make it back to a final against teams like LA again.

Mike Oxbig 12-23-2012 02:18 PM

Canucks are pure skills and talent, no grit no cup. Hondaracer actually said something right for once. :)

punkwax 12-23-2012 02:22 PM

Pretty sure the Redwings did okay without a lot of grit... so many variables in play when it comes to winning the Cup.

Mike Oxbig 12-23-2012 02:55 PM

their 3rd and 4th line are checking and grinding line

the top lines are clutch players too bailing out the goalie when he shits the pants in the past decade

spideyv2 12-23-2012 08:36 PM

You need to be healthy and able to roll 4 lines, if you want to win a cup.

The Canucks always get fucked when it comes to injuries. If it's not that, it's one of the top 2 lines slumping.

Kron-fucking-wall.

Mother fucker lays the biggest (albeit walking the line and some very dirty) hits in the new NHL.

Verdasco 12-24-2012 12:16 AM

who WASN'T scared of the wings back in their prime??... if only the sedins were in this team a long time ago.... when the game was softer, 200 points :lawl:

Isn't the game considered "softer" today?? :suspicious:

no, its faster without the clutching and grabbing
the Sedins would benefit more today rather than the old

b0unce. [?] 12-24-2012 05:10 AM

draper was the biggest factor for the wings' cups
