The league difficulty for the largest NHL feeder leagues is shown below:

League
Difficulty

NHL
1.00

WHA Final Year (1978-79)
0.89

Russian Elite League
0.83

Swedish Elite League
0.78

Czech Republic League
0.74

Finland SM-Liiga
0.54

Deutsche Eishockey League
0.52

WHA First Year (1972-73)
0.46

AHL
0.44

IHL
0.43

Switzerland National League
0.44

NCAA
0.41

Canadian Major Junior
0.29*
* The difficulty of Canadian Major Junior is lower than predicted by this method since major junior players are 20 years old or younger and consequently experience significant skills growth from year-to-year.

not sure how accurate this is

That Mike Ratchuk goal is like a dirtier Datsyuk. Unreal.

Kilinim 12-29-2012 04:15 PM

Heat v. Wolves game looks so ridiculously slow compared to the recent WJC games

Was not able to watch the Canada vs Fribourg game today. How did Cory Schneider play other then the 5-1 loss.

Devastator 12-30-2012 07:04 PM

Only was able to catch the first 2 periods, but I thought he played pretty well. Typical cool as a cucumber schneider. Really looking forward to watch him play more whenever we have hockey again.

CANUCKS' RAYMOND SIGNS CONTRACT TO PLAY WITH SWEDISH CLUB

Quote:

Raymond signed a month-long contract with Orebro of the Hockey Allsvenskan, which is the second tier of Swedish pro hockey, and is expected to play 11 games with the club throughout the month.

"In Mason, we get a global player to the squad. One of the NHL's best skaters and a forward of a very high class," the club said in a statement after announcing the signing.

The 27-year-old Raymond is coming off a disappointing season in which he registered 10 goals and 10 assists in 55 games. To his credit, the Alberta native was coming off fracturing two vertebrae in Game Six of the Stanley Cup final the year before.

The Canucks forward joins Maple Leafs defenceman Carl Gunnarson on the Orebro roster.

Expectation is NHL and PA will meet tomorrow. For the first time Bettman confirmed drop dead date of Jan 19 to start season.

=========
meaning the drop dead date to sign a deal is probz jan 11th

at least we got some sort of deadline
