So does the schedule stay exactly the same?
I figure maybe some teams play more divisional games earlier in the season, which are now all wiped out.
Wouldn't it be imbalanced if the schedule remain as is?

The league has a new 50 and 48 game schedule drafted up. Not sure which one will be chosen just yet
I know I give Lu a lot of flack, but I think most people will agree with me that we do NOT want him for a shortened season like this... usually takes him at least 10 games to get warmed up.. well there's a quarter of the season!
Unless Schneider shits the bed like Hondaracer hopes, Lu won't start so you don't have to worry. However, I would imagine that in a backup role, Lu will play lights out when given the opportunity. He'll always push for the #1 spot.

great news..... but now TSN can go back to being completely unwatchable if you want to know about other sports than hockey, cuz now they can get back to dedicating 55 minutes of it's hour long programming to hockey as opposed to the 45 they've been doing so far ?
I tried watching TSN for the first time in about 10 years during the lockout figured hey finally I can catch Football and Basketball highlights on TSN for a change, but most of their programming STILL revolved around hockey every single day even though not a single game took place.
And I thought Speed was bad when Nascar purchased them few years back and it was mostly Nascar coverage.

Woo hoo! Finally, we have NHL hockey. It's hockey pool time. -gonna see some happy guys at work tomorrow. That being said, I will only support the league, and of course the Canucks, by watching games on TV. -not buying Canucks tickets for a while. If the league thinks that fans are just gonna flock back to games at arenas like a bunch of dumb sheep, think again. -need to send a message to Bettman after making fans wait through a 113 day lockout. Can you trade Lu in a season where injuries could be huge? Have Corey get injured and have to ride Lack in the playoffs circa cloutier/auld 04?
Also I encourage everyone to not spend money on nucks merchandise or games where possible, I won't be spending a dollar on tickets till the playoffs and still may not then
Maybe it has been mentioned before but I don't wanna read the previous pages..will it still be lottery for the draft next year since its a short season?
Oilers will probably tank it one more year and go for Mackinnon or jones lol. Wish we could do that

There is less incentive to completely tank the season now...Under the old CBA, a team was allowed to move up only four spots so if a team finished sixth worst or worse, they did not have a shot at the top choice. The draft will be weighted according to the team's position overall in the standings but now all non-playoff teams will at least get the chance to move to the top spot.

Ummm.. so the fact that he is the backup means what, with him needing 10 games to warmup?

This. There will be pissed off people but they are not special little snowflakes. People will still buy tickets, team merchandise and watch hockey. 20 games into the season it will be like nothing has happened.
Also I guarantee you Canucks will feel the hit financially throughout the season, merchandise sales will not be the same as they would have been if it had been a regular season Posted via RS Mobile
