Dave Nonis replaces Burke as GM again? History repeats itself and Luongo is traded to Toronto :o |

Wow, I actually think Bettman is sincerely in his apology to the fans. Bettman apologizes to fans during a press conference announcing the owners voting to ratify the new CBA. You're right Bettman, the league has its work cut out in terms of winning back fans to watch games at arenas, especially American fans. A simple "Thank you Fans" logo at center ice isn't good enough after this lockout. Bettman apologizes as NHL's Board of Governors ratify CBA |
Let's have a moment for Burke and all the things he has done for the Laffs.. ..K moments gone, moving on :lawl: |
It's actually pretty amazing what Burke has done for the Leafs since he inherited that mess. The team he built should have arguably been able to get into the playoffs last year on paper anyways. He restocked their propsect pool. All without a traditional ground up rebuild like what the Oilers did. The Oilers are stacked with prospects and potential now but still haven't proven anything. |
thing about the oilers is when those kids want the money they deserve I don't see how they are going to be able to keep all of them. Mind you the leafs have not really proven anything yet either. Posted via RS Mobile |
It's actually kind of confusing why he got fired a week before the start of the season. Can't figure it out. Why not just give him this season and see if he makes the playoffs. |
i'm asuming the thinking was he had 4 years to make the playoffs |
^ right, but with a shortened season anyway, makes more sense just to ride it out for the 50ish games. or if they felt that way to begin with, they should have dealt with him before the lockout. |
yea, but with a 48 game season making the playoffs isnt really a barometer to how your team is positioned for the future |
The funny part is the Leafs normally come out fairly strong so they actually have a better chance of making the playoffs this year |
Flyers interested in Lu. Great, lets hope Gillis gets a good return if he does decide to unload Lu |
I would be so happy if we got Reilly and/or JVR. |
^ I think you're dreaming if you think we'll get one of them, much less both of 'em haha. |
JVR aint on da flya's |

Briere is super clutch in the playoffs but Hartnell, Briere and Giroux are untouchable. Flyers are trash and known for always making aggressive trades. If Luu is going to philly, Hartnell better be the one coming back. |
If Hartnell becomes a Canuck, reunite the Sedin triplet lol. |

^I really hope so too. Luongo would thrive better in Philadelphia than in Toronto. |
With the Leafs interest in Lu this will prob open the door for other teams and hopefully we will get more for him. |
