For comparison's sake, let's use Cody Hodgson. 2010/2011 AHL season with the Moose - 52 GP, 30 points. Looks like he isn't ready as he isn't completely tearing it up. 2011/2012 NHL season with the Canucks/Sabres - 83 GP, 41 points. Good rookie season. Just because you don't obliterate the AHL, doesn't mean that you can't find success at the NHL level. Playing with NHL calibre players is different than playing with AHLers. I think Schroeder deserves a chance, which he hasn't gotten up to this point. Even Bill Sweatt has played a couple games for the big club. |
If Schroeder can't even crack the opening night lineup with Kesler injured and our 2nd line completely empty...what does that say about the club's confidence in him? Still too early to call bust? |

Secondary thought though, is that JS is one of the few guys who has a 2 way contract and can be sent down without getting claimed. Maybe it's to meet the 23 man opening roster that needs to be submitted today, and they'll recall him tomorrow? Just a thought. |

Just read that Coach V is basically saying he will be back up after the weekend. |

Nah, he will probably go back to New Jersey to fill the void of Parise  |

If not, brutal decision. Inb4 Schroeder demands trade Posted via RS Mobile |
AV hates young players. |

AV is going into the season with 12F and 9D lol. Would have made more sense to waive Tanev/Alberts/Vandermeer. |
So Gillis was on the Team1040 today, Gillis said that even if they decide to send Schroeder down (decided already) that he'll be back very "shortly". Hopefully this is about Gilman managing the cap than AV preferring Ebbett over Schroeder. |

Those aren't 2nd line NHL numbers Posted via RS Mobile |
19 points in 30 games is decent for a guy who plays with low tier linemates Hodgson had 30 pts in 52 games at a -12 in the AHL... Oh look, he's in the NHL. lol....... hockey is game that involves more than stats bud |

they'd still make money even if they did sell authentics for 50% off :yuno: |
Watch them get "new stock" of authentics...AFTER THE SALE :rukidding: |

Second line center is a spot for ELITE nhlers not half assed AHLers I guess the real argument is who is better suited there? And if the answer is no one then its looking pretty bleak Posted via RS Mobile |

Who would you want on our second line then? One eye'd Malholtra? MAYBE Lapierre Garbage Gomez? Trash Bozak in a Luongo trade? Forever AHL journey man Ebbett? I'd take Schroeder on the second line over any of those guys. Sure he's not the biggest guy, but size isn't everything. This is like defending Hodgson last year all over again :lol |
It's not like Schroeder will be the 2nd line center the whole season... It's just to fill a void while Kes is out at Tim Hortons and Save on. This season is a gamble anyways, might as well give Schroeder some experience. |
Yea, basically lappy and then who centers third? Uhgg :/ Posted via RS Mobile |
How u perform in AHL and NHL stats wise never tells the whole story. Anyone remember Jason Krog? First in scoring every year in the AHL. Straight tears it up. How many games did he play in the NHL? If I recall, Edler never tore it up in the AHL either. Posted via RS Mobile |

Little disappointed that Schoeder got sent down. Not sure about Ebbett on the 2nd line. |
