"it's ok, we usually tank the first month" "yo guyz, we saving ourselvz for da playoffs" "omg luz octoberz always suck doe"
How about we tank the first month in a shortened season, and find ourselves fighting for the fnal playoff spot come April?
Its a trend with this team, and the excuse of "rust" isn't acceptable
i've come to peace with the fact that this team is so fucking rusty out of the gate that they will always tank the first bit.
2 games in, 2 losses, seasons over. srsly though there's positives to both sides of this. short season means easier for canucks to do good if they smarten up, usually by playoffs they break down injury wise. if they bomb they get a HUGE opportunity at drafting an EXCELLENT player with the lottery draft for the teams not making the playoffs. could you imagine if the team got to draft a player like drouin in the offseason, this years draft is probably as good as the 2003 draft, the top 10 may be better imo. i mean with the canucks having the sedins, kesler etc in the previous cba a chance at a top 5 good pick would be hard to come by and with the sedins gettin older this could make the team super dangerous next year. of course there isnt a guarantee if they miss they would get a top 5 pick but definitely a better chance than usual and of course id rather they make the playoffs but still either way its pretty good imo
Was just on nhl.com and started watching the Bruins Jets game on gamecentre (online) for free, but gamecentre killed the feed after about 5 minutes. I thought I had hit gold for the afternoon at work

Reminds me of what the Spurs, usually a model of winning and consistency, went through in 97 when they lost their star player David Robinson and finished in the bottom three to win the lottery. They drafted Tim Duncan. Not saying the Canucks will end up bottom 3.. but it wouldn't hurt to get a star youngster since our prospect pool is quite thin. That said, i rather have the team win the cup

I don't know whats worse
Canucks 'fans' panicking over 2 games or fans wanting the Canucks to tank the season so they get a prospect who could be 2-5 years away from making an impact

durr of course winning is the best way but if you actually take a deep look at the team and the prospects you'd understand why im bringing it up. 2-5 years away for an impact with this draft? this draft has a handful of players that could make the jump to the nhl next year and make an impact. jones, mackinnon, drouin, barkov, lindholm, nichushkin, monahan. all im saying is that if this season is bad it seems theres a silver lining to this season. was drunk when i posted last so it seems i went overboard with my thoughts of the possibilities lol
