The deal reported in this article is a 5 year contract, 33 to 35 million dollars. Jamie Benn is way too expensive for the Canucks.

This player is Dallas' franchise center for the present and future. They would do whatever it takes to sign this guy.

Would Gillis even consider giving up draft picks to sign this RFA for that amount of money? We're talking about a Sedin size contract here in terms of the annual salary.
