Legit rumors are just as good as 98% done deals...

Rumors of any sort are still just rumors

Mike Oxbig 06-26-2012 10:50 AM

:suspicious: is Ballard a salary dump trade for schultz?

spideyv2 06-26-2012 10:50 AM

@thescoreticker: Pavel Bure has been elected
into Hockey Hall of Fame

Larionov being added to the HHOF selection committee I think really helped Pavel getting in sooner than later.

Verdasco 06-26-2012 11:06 AM

Wouldn't Schultz only be eligible for like 900k his first year? Ballard is somewhere around 4.25M. Canucks already dumped Rome, Ebbet, and a few others. I think they'd have room for Schultz regardless of whether Ballard leaves or not.

Mike Oxbig 06-26-2012 11:09 AM

Sakic Shannahan Bure Oates Fleury / Lindros?
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=53192

Yes, Mats Sundin was a canuck!

+1. Wish the Canucks would get off their high horse and put him up in the ring of honour at the very least. He's the only 'real' Canuck in the hall of fame

No, already covered here http://www.revscene.net/forums/66949...ml#post7959098

Team signing him needs to allocate $3.8 million in cap space to account for bonuses.

Any links to the Ballard rumors? I haven't found anything.

Only what I hear from Canucks bloggers, media and others like folks that work at Rogers or for the Canucks through our chat channels.

Sakic, Sundin, Oates, Bure are the 4 players in to the HHOF.

Sundin I think is a joke going in as a 1st ballot HOF, but not surprised since Quinn and Burke are on the selection committee. I've heard that Quinn was in part keeping Bure out for so long, due to some bitterness still between them.

Bure was the greatest thing happened to this franchise anyways, not linden, not 94 cup run, not 2012 cup run or the sedins/ luongo. All these new prospects growing up to be a fan of bure (yakupov, schenn bros)

hotshot1 06-26-2012 11:15 AM

WTF, imo Sundin's not worthy of a 1st ballot. Although he's been lights out in international competitions, he's got no cup and no individual awards.

Sakic's a no brainer 1st ballot. I'm glad Oates and Bure finally got in, I think they waited long enough. For the last spot, I would have gone with Shanahan or Lindros over Sundin.

Clarifying comments I made on @TEAM1040. Yes, Dale Tallon has full support from above to try and make Luongo trade. But ... (Con't)

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun
But Tallon would still need to circle back to ownership for final green light if he can ever make a deal with Vancouver... Big contract

Oates should be in the HOF

punkwax 06-26-2012 11:35 AM

Good for Pavel! He deserves it. Now MG has to do something.. Hopefully more than put him in the ring of honour. Bure turned a lot of Vancouverites into hockey fans and the franchise wouldn't be where it is today without that influence.

Keep in mind, this is the Hockey Hall of Fame and not the NHL Hall of Fame.
As a hockey player, Sundin has an olympic gold medal and other accomplishments.

You can't expectthe Canucks to get "hot prospects" when they pick 26th every year...

Seeing that Luongo may possibly be heading to Florida, in another Canucks and Florida trade, I'm curious to know if there is a team in the league the Canucks have never made a trade with?

Mike Oxbig 06-26-2012 12:15 PM

both are RFA, could versteeg kulikov be in play but FLA doesnt want to part with bjustad/Gudbranson? Heard kulikov was one of the players could have gotten for hodgson

:suspicious:

b0unce. [?] 06-26-2012 12:21 PM

does bergenheim still play in fla? if so, i want him.

You'd have to think that the Canucks want Huberdeau or Bjugstad. Personally, I'd love to see Bjugstad here. Kids a beast. 6"5, 215lbs.

Mike Oxbig 06-26-2012 12:27 PM

^ 3rd overall pick huberdeau was such a beast during the memorial cup

bergenheim signed to a 2.75 cap hit until 14/15, would like to gamble with him over mayray
