Haha at first I was wondering why you guys were dissing Trevor Linden's reflection on Sedin's hockey career...

Then I realized you guys were rolling your eyes at Bounce's repost... :lol

Mercy 02-18-2013 03:54 PM

how far behind hank is his brother?

MR_BIGGS 02-18-2013 03:55 PM

So in watching and listening to Linden's reflection, about how we may never see the kind of chemistry and passing the Sedins do with each other, it made me think about how lucky we've been to witness it.

Do you guys think the NHL has missed the boat in marketing these guys? I mean they are fricken identical twins playing on the same team and know where and when each is going to be. Would they be the faces of the NHL if they played on an American team, were American or Canadian?

They also play in the Western Conference and PST, so the games are always late for the eastern fans. Like how much of the rest of Canada stays up to watch the second game on HNIC?

Let me google that for you

tonyzoomzoom 02-18-2013 04:30 PM

It all about the east coast teams. More than half of Canada / US are already asleep while games are on in the west coast. The only way to get their attention is if we start our games at 4pm like the old days whenever HNIC was in town.

Burrows almost scored the same way, except his shot wasn't accurate enough and it hit the side of the goalie's pads.

Burrows didn't score because Jake Allen didn't spread his legs like a hooker. LU's stick wasn't even covering his five hole.

punkwax 02-18-2013 04:58 PM

Burrows didn't score because he's a one trick pony who used his only move just minutes prior. Canucks are a joke in the SO and I'm rarely confident we have more talent than the opposing team when it comes down to them.

Perhaps the linesman was busy staring at a pair of tits of a girl sitting near the front row instead of looking at the ice. :jerkit:

But like I said: When you put the puck at the net, good things happen.

Don't think it would be an offside if the puck deflects off the stick of a pred. Looks like it did off of #15.

Refs should've still reviewed the play to make sure lol

THat's not the rules. If the preds CARRIED the puck back into their zone while an Avs player was there first, then it wouldn't be offside. But deflecting doesn't count.

Fappin 02-19-2013 03:56 AM

Learn something new everyday lol.

Is it offside if you enter the offensive zone with the puck, while skating backwards? So you have control of the puck, but your feet/skates cross the blue line before the puck does.

Razor Ramon HG 02-19-2013 08:32 AM

Rule 83 - Off-side

83.1 Off-side - Players of the attacking team must not precede the puck into the attacking zone.

The position of the player’s skates and not that of his stick shall be the determining factor in all instances in deciding an off-side. A player is off-side when both skates are completely over the leadingedge of the blue line involved in the play.

A player is on-side when either of his skates are in contact with, or on his own side of the line, at the instant the puck completely crosses the leadingedge of the blueline regardless of the position of his stick. However, a player actually controlling the puck who shall cross the line ahead of the puck shall not be considered “off-side,” provided he had possession and control of the puck prior to his skates crossing the blue line.

It should be noted that while the position of the player’s skates is what determines whether a player is “off-side,” nevertheless the question of an “off-side” never arises until the puck has completely crossed the leading edge of the blueline at which time the decision is to be made.

If a player legally carries or passes the puck back into his own defending zone while a player of the opposing team is in such defending zone, the off-side shall be ignored and play permitted to continue.

I find it odd that Volpatti would be out over Weise. He's been far grittier/physical than Weise all year long.

dbaz 02-19-2013 08:59 AM

they were saying volpattis face is prob swollen after 2 fights in 3 days. probably needs the day off

I find it odd that they are splitting Raymond and Schroeder.

As do I, the two have shown great chem all season long. Knowing AV though, things will change quickly if they aren't working out.

pastarocket 02-19-2013 09:13 AM

-latest Canucks tweet. Corey starts the game in Chicago. Booth is back.

Vancouver Canucks ‏@VanCanucks
Schneider gets the start. Booth will return. All in #Chicago.

Go Canucks go! Put a Chelsea Dagger into the Blackhawks! -hate that stupid song.

Ronin 02-19-2013 09:24 AM

That's usually my only problem with AV...that he seems to put lines together at random and splits them up when they're starting to develop chemistry. He never leaves them together long enough.
