Fair enough - I can accept Shanahan's explanation. But why call it roughing when the elbow was clearly involved?

Kassian needs to be punishing people on the boards if he's not putting pucks in the net. Needs to pick up his game one way or the other.
Exactly.
The dude needs to take a page from Burrows' playbook. You don't need to be scoring or setting up plays to keep yourself in AV's radar. There's sooooo many other ways to keep yourself in the mix with, or without the puck.
Lol are you fucking kidding me? Hansen REACHED for the puck. Just because Hossa is in your stupid fucking fantasy pool, it doesn't give you the right to be a dumbass.
Look if that happened to any canuck player, it would be scrutinized to death whether the intention was to injure, so take the blinders off and watch some hockey.
Hossa isn't in my pool. I said I play fantasy hockey and losing players to stupid moves like that is annoying.
The one gamer was basically because "Hansen didn't do anything wrong, but Hossa got injured." Nice to see that the NHL is protecting the stars, but if Hossa got f*cked up by that, imagine what would happen if he got nailed? If he's that fragile, he shouldn't be playing in then first place. Way I see it is that was a hockey play. I didn't see intent to injure. Hansen has no history of supplementary discipline. While that was an UNSAFE play, it wasn't malicious. It was also quite light and if that's all it takes to concuss Marian Hossa, he shouldn't be playing yet.
That being said, the NHL has to do more to remove as much contact to the head from this game as possible. I'm not for reducing legal hits or fighting BUT plays like this could've been removed if both players were more careful. We don't lose anything from the game's entertainment value if two guys don't jump for the puck whereas fights and big hits are fun to watch.
I thought $10,000 for sure. How can the NHL suspend Hansen when they just gave out $10,000 fines for a slew foot? A slew foot is quite a dangerous play and certainly more malicious than Hansen going for the puck.
Yea, pretty much...we traded a top 6 forward for a 4th liner... quote me on this by the end of the season
At least uneducated hockey "fans" like you are good for a laugh or two every now and then.
Tarasenko got absolutely flattened, the hit was clean though - wasn't to the head, didn't leave his feet. Tarasenko had his head down and Olver just put his shoulder into his chest.
I'm not hurt, I'm just saying...you guys don't have to read my posts.. you guys seem more hurt than me tbh lol and I never said Kassian was a plug, I just said he was a 4th liner..
And if you guys play hockey, it's pretty easy playing with the Sedins. You just read the play and skate to open ice or go to the front of the net and wait for the puck to come to you, if you can't do that, you shouldn't be in the NHL.
