flames suck btw. trade your captain (who gives a fuck what he means, you guys need some high end prospects to carry your team forward. ..and your window to win is very unlikely to be now. They can tell him to resign later after hes a FA again or whatever if they are worried of being butthurt ) and ship get j-bo off ur books

and Edmonton will make do to the flames what pancakes did to dustin penner for years to come. The Battle of Alberta will consist of the Oilers drilling the hell out of Calgary

iginla isnt going anywhere..............i cant say that much for jbo though...maybe signing wideman means bye bye jbo

Ya he plays a lot of games but who wants a player that puts up no points expecially when you pay him that kind of money :troll:

Crosby. 12 yrs 104.4 million. Chachinggggg

Gh0stRider 06-28-2012 08:35 AM

The Pittsburgh Penguins are expected to announce on Sunday that captain Sidney Crosby has signed a 12-year, $104.4 million contract extension. Crosby, 24, was entering the final season of a five-year, $43.5 million US contract extension signed in 2007

@TSNBobMcKenzie: Big $$ in Crosby deal will come in first 9 yrs. Final 3 yrs likely to be worth $3-$4M per yr. Means he'll get $10M+ for each of 1st 9 yrs.
@TSNBobMcKenzie: New deal doesn't take effect until after next season ends. Crosby will be 26 when it starts, 35 after 1st 9 years of deal is done.

Justin Schultz is ready to talk to a shortlist of NHL teams bidding for his services. And the young defenceman has narrowed down his list of suitors to the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators and Edmonton Oilers.

I'm kind of surprised that Ottawa is in the mix for him.

Tendering offer sheets to restricted free agents seems like such a slutty move.

Sure, a GM could genuinely be interested in player X, but at the same time, the GM could offer one just to screw with another team's options.

crosby deal is so good.

I'm worried that might happen with Corey

Why is Crosby deal good? If he gets into another concussion, or some other injury, does that mean Pittsburgh would have to pay Crosby for the remainder of his contract?

:suspicious:

Verdasco 06-28-2012 10:16 AM

Why not sign in vancouver? :troll:

its super entertaining watching fans chase out the biggest superstar on their team......no big deal though....im sure you can ride a backup that hasnt played many games....should be entertaining none-the-less

Downward spiral and we'll still do better then your shitty team. How does it feel to be a fan of one of the worst managed teams in the NHL? A team who sets the bar real low and has a goal of trying to get that 8th seed and it's funny as hell because they can't even hit that mark.

The Flames are the Leafs of the west. Every year they think there going to make it into the playoffs and have a chance but every year they fall short and don't even get a sniff. The Canucks might miss the mark but at least they actually have a legit shot every year, you wouldn't know what that's like but I can tell you it's better then not having one.

Anyway hold that rebuttal I'm just about to head out for the weekend I'll be back on Sunday.

Calgary should be sellers and stock up on draft picks this season. Columbus had so many picks in last year's draft. The 2013 draft is suppose to be deep with talent projected late into the second round. If they can stock pile draft picks and start over, that would be in their best interest. Looking at their team now, they need to start over. Problem is that ownership and team management have not been on the same page for a while. They need to build a new team.

Also, any keeper league poolies here? I drafted Ryan Strome last year; do people see him making the Islanders this season? Projected points?

J. Quick signs a 10 yr extension with kings worth 7million per

UFO 06-28-2012 12:55 PM

^The eff... caphit seems too for 10 yr length

Other goalie news Rask signed 1 yr for 3.5M, he will still be RFA when this deal ends though. So that and Pavelec's signing will help set Schneider's value

-pretty sure that Pittsburgh's GM consulted with the team doctor's and perhaps a neurologist to determine if Crosby has a clean bill of health after all those concussions.

When he's healthy, he's one of the best players in the league. It's rare to have a player who's won the Hart Trophy, Art Ross Trophy, Rocket Richard trophy, Stanley Cup, and an Olympic gold medal before his 25th birthday.

The Penguins are taking a financial risk on this contract extension on Sid for sure. They think it's worth it given the stature of the player and the doctor's diagnosis.

for 10m/year for the first decade roughly is worth it for crosby. yes of course this is assuming he doesn't get injured again, but this would apply to every player. he's won pretty much every "big" award you can get. plus they aren't going to let go of their franchise player. i mean when he's in his late 30's, they wont be paying him that much, so it gives the pens more room to breathe.

lol i mean radulov signed for 12m a year.
