The Canucks are expending too much energy in their own zone and they tend to make too many passes along the boards that don't connect or when it does, the pass isn't sharp. These split second delay is whats making the difference between a scoring opportunity and a counter attack for the opposing team. The Canucks used to be able to do it but it's hard not to notice that speed and player conditioning isn't where it should be for an elite team like the Canucks.

I don't know what it is, but the boys just don't seem to have the urgency that they need. Despite our fairly good record, I think we've had something like 4 wins against actual playoff teams. Gonna have to pick it up if we want to do anything with the season.

Not pressing the panic button or anything, but maybe something needs to change. Maybe there need's to be a new voice in the room, and as some of you are suggesting, a new coach. Not because AV is a bad coach, but because his style of coaching and his voice just don't seem to be connecting with the boys right now. In fact, it hasn't seemed to be connecting with them since late last season. We need a wakeup call, and I think we all know AV isn't going to provide that.

I would hate to see AV go. And I hope he doesn't. But something needs to happen, thats for sure.

If Kes starts playing like the game changer we've all seen he can be, it would make a huge difference. Don't want to lump it all on one guys shoulders but I think he has the ability to really impact the entire season.
