Not really racist! 06-28-2012 05:53 PM

If only Schneids bit for 3.5/3.75 instead... but oh well

shouldnt be too bad cause the cap is up though

4M is perfect. Plus the cap is increasing next year so we have more money to spend!

spoon.ek9 06-28-2012 06:03 PM

I'm happy for Cory and happy we are keeping him :neckbeard:

Ronin 06-28-2012 06:04 PM

$4m is a completely reasonable deal. The difference between $3.5m and $4m is just unimportant compared to getting Schneider locked up before another team can try to fuck with us with offer sheets.

Schneider seems smart. I don't think he'd take a deal like this without knowing that Lu will be traded. Tells me the deal for Lu is getting done...just working on some kinks.

Renthal 06-28-2012 06:12 PM

3.5 for tuuka and 4 mil for schneider.. not bad at all

Gotta be. No way Price deserves 6-6.5 mil.

I think Price will be in the 5.5 range even 6 range.

Not to mention Tukka signed a 1 year and if he does well will probably get an increase to 4.5 or more possibly making the overall avg over 3 years more than Cory.

Come on July 1st!

Durrann 06-28-2012 06:18 PM

Congrats in order to Cory! Great teammate that has worked hard for his opportunities. Good red-headed goalies are a rare commodity!

It's game time now. I think that was the news we needed to get the ball rolling. The prob told Schultz that they are going to sign Schneider after the meeting. Trading Lu and they want him for the #4 d spot because Ballard is going as well... Make him feel good for knowing before everyone and it shows a trust as well which is for big for any player.

Hondaracer 06-28-2012 06:23 PM

So does Lu move on Sunday?

4 mill is alright I guess, let's see how he goes as a starter

You would think with the way he's played in the past and his demeanor he has the potential to rip it up but who knows

murd0c 06-28-2012 06:29 PM

I don't think so at all because he has always been so calm in net and the team plays better in front of him. I think its a we are fucken lucky kinda thing that hes such a team player and waited and proved he was good enough rather then bitch like you hear a lot these days.

highfive 06-28-2012 06:32 PM

I thought he would be closer to Rask #s but then Rask was only 1 year whereas Schneids is 3.

2011 Cup Champ - American Goalie
2012 Cup Champ - American Goalie
2013 Cup Champ -? C'mon Schneider!! keep the trend going!

EmperorIS 06-28-2012 06:58 PM

Oh here we go with the patterns again... I wish that isn't true since Canucks are always combo breakers in a bad way.

lol.. is that luongo ?? wheres the gif from

woob 06-28-2012 07:16 PM

Luongo is gone. I'm more excited now than I am for last years trade deadline. Big shake-ups coming. I think Edmonton is going to be a beast this season if they can pick up any decent d-man. And with Bernier on the market, they might have a good goalie, too.

jerche 06-28-2012 07:46 PM

Can someone enlighten me on how Schultz become a UFA? Because he decided to not finish school? What if he finished school, would he be with Anaheim?

mb_ 06-28-2012 07:53 PM

Justin Schultz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:

During the last week of May, 2012, Schultz officially "de-registered" from the University of Wisconsin triggering a process that will likely make him an unrestricted free agent (UFA).
According to league rules, from the time Anaheim was given notice of the de-registration from school, the Ducks have a 30-day exclusive window to try to sign him or trade him. If Anaheim does not sign or trade Schultz, he will be eligible to sign an Entry Level Contract with any of the NHL's other 29 teams on July 1, 2012.

Gillis says organization has reached out to Pavel Bure, but Bure not ready to be honoured by #Canucks right now. Maybe in future

punkwax 06-29-2012 06:34 AM

I wonder if Pavel gave Valerie shit for going on about how the Canucks should honour his brother when the guy doesn't want anything to do with the organization..

AWDTurboLuvr 06-29-2012 06:39 AM

DarrenDreger: Martin Brodeur very likely to test free agent market. Brodeur has hired Pat Brisson (CAA) to represent him. Bidders get ready!

WTF?

kristianhay 06-29-2012 06:44 AM

Wonder how/if this will affect trading Luongo. I doubt it will though.. Lu = elite goalie, still in his prime with a longer window to win a cup. Brodeur = past his prime, albeit had a good playoff run.

AWDTurboLuvr 06-29-2012 06:52 AM

It might. Think of it this way, FLA already has Markstrom in the wings, they could use Marty in the short-term and maybe use him as a mentor. Plus with the cap-floor raised, they could take on some salary, not like Marty would command as much these days.
