hate to see marty in any other uniform. i hope he stays in jersey or retire as a devil.

mb_ 06-29-2012 07:05 AM

^same. Can't see him in another uniform.

punkwax 06-29-2012 07:36 AM

Marty will always be remembered as a Devil. I could see him in Toronto...

As for Luongo, NJ could be a good fit as well. Marty being availabe closed one door and opened another, IMO.

SkinnyPupp 06-29-2012 07:52 AM

Luongo for Kovalchuk :derp:

Vansterdam 06-29-2012 08:00 AM

brodeur to toronto would be quite interesting

SkinnyPupp 06-29-2012 08:02 AM

He'd be a better fit for them than Luongo, honestly

Tim Budong 06-29-2012 08:10 AM

it be nostalgic for him and his father if he signs with habs

Ronin 06-29-2012 08:20 AM

Lu for Kovalchuk, Henrique, Larsson, and 3 1st rounders, obviously.

highfive 06-29-2012 08:44 AM

^That's 12 1st rounders too little according to Burke. But since Kovie, Henrique, and Larsson is in it, I'll cut it down to 6 more 1st Rounders.

TPMarko 06-29-2012 08:51 AM

NJ still has to give up 4 first rounders for the Kovy contract. so even if we got some 1st rounders, i wonder how that would work.

You're doing it wrong, remember Lu is only worth cap dumps?

RiceIntegraRS 06-29-2012 08:55 AM

I have no idea why Brodeur would go sign somewhere else. Hes won everything hes wanted to win in the NHL and has nothing left to prove. Hes still a really good goalie, even though on the decline, stilll better than atleast half the goalies playing in the NHL.

NJ hasn't offered him a contract, it's not by his choice.

Not really, a guy who works for NHL.com and behind the mask goalie magazine basically said on the radio that the way Marty plays almost exclusively works with the devils system as shots that every other 29 teams would attempt to block are let through in the devils system because Marty wants to see them, he said coaches have been hired and fired in NJ because of this philosophy

Expresso 06-29-2012 10:26 AM

Who would NJ even replace Brodeur with anyways? Which goalies are on the market this year?

murd0c 06-29-2012 10:29 AM

They are now saying that if Marty becomes available that Lu's value is going to drop. I call BS he has one year left if hes lucky so how can that effect Lu?

wreckless 06-29-2012 10:42 AM

New Jerseys success this year was an anomaly. The Eastern Conf playoff situation was an absolute joke.

Brodeur testing the FA market will have zero effect on any competent GM's decision regarding Luongo.

kristianhay 06-29-2012 10:46 AM

Florida buys out Matt Bradley.. clearing space for Lu possibly?

411ken 06-29-2012 10:59 AM

I read that team 1040 said that panthers are preparing for Lu's return. So if its true I can see sumn done soon...

Bjugstad pleaseeeee. Or it'd be crazy if huberdeau or gudbranson but that's slim to none

kristianhay 06-29-2012 11:08 AM

Twitter is abuzz that Lu has been traded to Florida.. we'll see in the next little while here.

Word on street is ‪#FlaPanthers‬ are internally getting ready for the return of Roberto Luongo

Ronin 06-29-2012 11:12 AM

Believe it once real sources tweet it.

kristianhay 06-29-2012 11:13 AM

Same here. With the signing of Schneider, Florida waiving/buying out players and Gillis having media availability at 12:30, it's a possibility.

Renthal 06-29-2012 11:20 AM

Samjam on CDC saying luu has been traded to Florida... Take it with a big grain of salt

OGCStrike 06-29-2012 11:22 AM

^ 90% for sure :ilied:

like what happened with toronto " 90% done"

411ken 06-29-2012 11:49 AM

read that Salo signs 1 yr. $1.75 million contract. Glad to see him back if true
