Hamhuis
Kassian
Garrison
Higgins
Lapierre
Ehrhoff
Torres
Malhotra
Ballard
Tanev
Booth
Etc

Aside from Booth and Ballard, I think he's done a pretty good job. Has also resigned most of our core guys are extremely reasonable prices.

Our drafting has also improved imo, first rounders like:

Gaunce
Schroeder
Jensen

Not only that but think about what we gave up for it.

Hamhuis - UFA
Kassian - Coho
Garrison - UFA
Higgins - 3rd + oberg?
Lapierre - Perreault + 3rd
Ehrhoff - PATRICK WHITE
Torres - UFA
Malhotra - UFA
Ballard - Grabner + Bernier + first
Tanev - UFA
Booth - Samuellsson + Sturm

You gotta admit, the ballard trade seemed to be the only over payment. But that is because AV doesn't even use the guy.

Remember we got Sopel back for a 2nd Round pick?

Mike Oxbig 03-18-2013 03:33 PM

The problem with this team is:
-Kesler's injury clogging our 2nd line depth
-Booth under achieving and Canucks fan are being impatient (4.2)
-Ballard not being used up to potential for 4.2 D-man (4.2)
-Canucks fans cant choose if they want Luu or Schneids (4.0)
-Canucks spend to cap hit every year yet believes our depth will step out

12.4 mill cap being wasted which could afford x2 6mill winger.

spideyv2 03-18-2013 03:34 PM

Booth's time in Vancouver has to be done. Even when healthy, he's relatively useless.

Can't believe Schneid's is already 27, too, time flies.

spideyv2 03-18-2013 03:37 PM

Wasn't there a bet on HFboards that Booth wouldn't score a goal all season?

Schneider has to be the one leaving, swallowing a high cap hit top line winger or whatever... MG fucked up with the Luongo 10 year deal contract and Canucks fans has to accept it.

:derp: - "But we Luu wants to go home to play in Florida"

Not much of a groove that Lu's in. Given up 9 goals in past 2 games, half of them should have been stopped. But I agree with the call, his numbers at home vs. Wild are solid.

It's only overpayment in hindsight because of how Grabner turned out for the Islanders. People seem to forget he couldn't even make the Panthers team after we gave up on him, and the Panthers ended up waiving him. Grabner would have never seen the light of day in Vancouver under AV to develop into anything

Sucks that he hasn't been able to finish. He's created good chances, was decent defensively, physical at times. A couple better bounces this season and people's outlook on him would be significantly different. Yet people only see how many points he hasn't put up this season. Before his knee injury last season, he was scoring at a good pace alongside Kesler and Higgy

He would if he showed up to camp looking better than Raymond.

UFO 03-18-2013 06:02 PM

We will never know. The kid needed not 1, but 2 heavy duty kicks in his ass to get his act together; plus 'free' ice-time that he would have only been able to get with the Islanders.

Glad he found his stride.

but just imagine if he was neck in neck with Raymond a few years back and you have yourself two snipers of sort.

lines for tonight from twitter
