Possibility for canucks farm team to move to abby, makes sense. I would care more if we had more prospects in the wings to watch for.

Quick!!! Somebody pass Jeedee a set of glowsticks!

That Kadri! 3 assists in 7 minutes of playing time. He really fits well in Carlyle's system as a sheltered third line scoring threat.

For St.Louis and Kesler has a chance to gain his 40 goal form again

Not that it matters, but this picture wasn't from last night's game. I think Brendan Gallagher is changed to #11 a short while ago.

Booth out up to two months lol

@FarhanLaljiTSN:

I'm hearing the #canucks are hopeful that Kesler will begin skating by the end of this month. Booth could be out up to 2 months

Kesler might be bak before playoffs

If the Canucks aren't good enough to win the cup, which they most certainly aren't at this point, then I'd rather they just not make the playoffs and get a good draft pick out of it.

The worst thing they can do is pull a Calgary and get into the playoffs only to be bounced in the first round.

You'd make a great oilers fan. :troll:

not sure whether to be disappointed or feel pity for Booth?

the guy tries so hard, but always gets fucking injured

If were to not make the playoffs.... Gillis and AV would both be fired and the whole city would be up in arms...

SkinnyPupp 03-20-2013 06:52 PM

TB would be insane to trade St Louis

rsx 03-20-2013 06:56 PM

We would be insane to trade for St. Louis, he's pushing 38 isn't he??

Mike Oxbig 03-20-2013 07:19 PM

St.louis still has another 2-3 years

Insane? No way, for the reasons listed above.

Is he a good fit for our team? That's another question. It seems like pretty much nobody is a good fit for the Canucks... every decent forward who comes in seems to be a flop.

Tim Budong 03-20-2013 08:23 PM

Ducks/Hawks game is good

Hawks just gave the game away

lolwat?

Apart from Booth and Ballard, who else has been a bad fit for our team? Higgins, Lappy and Hamhuis are all good fits. Torres, Malhotra and Samuelsson did well for us, too.

Sturm sucked before he got here, I really don't know why MG had hopes of him being a second line forward.

A line consisting of:
Higgins-Kesler-St. Louis would be beast

Higgins and Lappy fit their roles well. Hamhuis is a defenseman. I was thinking more along the lines of a 'we need to bring in this productive top 6 forward' which never seems to pan out. Their most effective forwards points wise (Sedins, Burrows, Kesler, Hansen) have been brought in grounds up.

"lolwut" indeed. Can you disagree with someone without coming across as a complete cunt?

rsx 03-20-2013 09:09 PM

RE: st. louis

My point is, it's not like we're at the cusp of a stanley cup run, and he's the tipping point in scoring that'll make the team a championship team. I'd rather we invest in a younger player, preferably a centre.

From goalie graveyard to player graveyard?

It's hard to assess what the team needs right now and what makes a good fit moving forward. Bringing players in calgary style is not the way. Does booth recover to score even 20g/ season? Can you rely on kesler to score 30-40g? Are raymond and hansen having fluky decent years or can they be depended on for 25g? Why does our defensive core suck when on paper they look so stacked ( and have the cap hits to go along with it)?

Assuming you figure out what the current needs and future fit are, how is MG going to make it happen? Aside from lu or schneider, we don't have any assets of value that can land a 2nd line player that we need. Don't kid yourselves with Ballard+Raymond+Booth++ trades, if we don't want these guys odds are nobody else will either. Too bad coho was a cunt and wanted out, he'd have his chance right now. Ps: i love kassian and what he can bring but he's at least another 2 years away developmentally; ironic that he's the one with a bad back now.

At this point there are way more questions than answers.

IMO, MG has made two attempts to address our top 6 forward needs. As I said, Sturm was a useless acquisition in the first place. Considering Booth's concussion history, I'd say he was a high-risk acquisition, too.

I just don't see how St. Louis would be a bad acquisition, considering we don't give up the farm for him.

Not really racist! 03-20-2013 09:32 PM

You don't just give up washed up players for a top 6 forward. You have to pay a significant price for a good return
