In a real world I was thinking more like 5.5-6m/yr for a shorter term like 3 yrs... but Semin has played pretty well this year and is known to be a sick sniper.. heh just as long as he doesn't slack off... high risk high reward I guess

Exactly....Most great NHL players get contracts that are high risk/high reward....Crosby's huge contract was a HUUUUUGE risk....That contract after people close to the situation suggesting that he might never play again....and who knows, even now maybe he's one big hit from being done....

Well its one thing when you are forced to retire due to injury, contracts especially one as big as Crosby's are insured so the risk to the team is minimal

But you can't insure a contract for under performance and general suckiness. 7M/yr for 2-3 years I could see, 5 years... :fuckthatshit: who knows if he'll even be in the league in 5 years
