Semin probably used Getzlaf /Perry contract as a comparison...
Not surprised that he gets 7 mil if they get 8.6
In a real world I was thinking more like 5.5-6m/yr for a shorter term like 3 yrs... but Semin has played pretty well this year and is known to be a sick sniper.. heh just as long as he doesn't slack off... high risk high reward I guess

But you can't insure a contract for under performance and general suckiness. 7M/yr for 2-3 years I could see, 5 years...  who knows if he'll even be in the league in 5 years
