What do you expect? Vancouver is a big market city. Everyone is crazy about any info about the Canucks.

Media will always be that crazy. Just look at the "pumping tires" shit they made a big deal out of Luongo.

Media probably made other teams hate us more.

cliffhanger33 04-03-2013 12:28 PM

its about getting a right handed dman
sedins thrive off of passing it back to the point to make room, and we don't have a right handed guy running the point on PP

Not really racist! 04-03-2013 12:30 PM

Looks like another first or second round exit

You don't win a Stanley Cup with a soft line-up, lol, one gritty line that won't be able to score for the life of them and then three soft as fuck lines

We don't have the Stanley Cup formula, lulz.

Call me pessimistic but whatever

Poms trade call complete, full details.

Min/Buf trade: Sabres send Jason Pominville and a 4th in '14 to the Wild for Johan Larsson, Matt Hackett a 1st in '13 and a 2nd in '14.
As a Sabres fan, sad to seem Poms go, but two blue chip prospects and a 1st and 2nd rounder is an amazing return.

kristianhay 04-03-2013 12:31 PM

^ Great return on the Pominville trade, especially for a team retooling/rebuilding.

Hm, wonder what this is.

Always great to see this thread nice and active! While there may be hatred and animosity, this is still one of my primary go-to places for discussion about the team

We'll see how this thread shapes up coming towards the playoffs

We hit 30k posts last year, only at like 12k now

well thats 30k with an 82 game season. disappointed with deadline non-deals. roy was a good pickup but we needed something extra which we did not get. :okay:

Ikkaku 04-03-2013 12:44 PM

lets all boot up our consoles and play NHL13, play as a GM, and trade ourselves a winning team.

kristianhay 04-03-2013 12:47 PM

Holy shit this trade must be huge.

One of theories floated....Wash has trades Filip Forsberg. If that's the case...return must be huge. #tradecentre

Is Larsson really considered a blue chip prospect? Hackett and those draft picks are nice, though

im just glad we didnt trade our first round pick and hoping for some changes in the offseason

F. Forsberg to Nash for M. Erat and M. Latta

kristianhay 04-03-2013 01:00 PM

Hm, seems like they're trading a future star for a second liner in Erat and a B-prospect. Seems a bit peculiar. Forsberg was very highly touted at the draft.

mcphee needs to make the playoffs, his job is in jeopardy this year.

TYMG for not making a dumb trade like this

true blue chip prospect for a 31 year old second liner

no thanks, jeff

pastarocket 04-03-2013 01:32 PM

Gillis will need to change his trade offer demands in order to trading Luongo if he wants to unload salary off the books. How the heck is he gonna re-sign players with the salary cap room available?

-Gillis over estimates the demand for a goalie in the market and gives out a big contract AND a no trade clause to Luu. Real smart, MG!

Mike Oxbig 04-03-2013 01:33 PM

In the end its probably a team setting the tone for the style of play. Maybe this year all it takes is pure skill to win the cup. Maybe 1 goal games and goaltender stealing playoff matches.

Mike Oxbig 04-03-2013 01:44 PM

Mobile double post

highfive 04-03-2013 01:50 PM

I believe Gillis and co philosophy is to create more offense and force teams to stop defending the Sedins and spread out their defence through all 1-2-3-4 lines.

RiceIntegraRS 04-03-2013 01:54 PM

Offence is the best defence and on paper we "should" have alll the offence required to win in the playoffs........ when healthy. Now its up to the players and coaches to make it happen.

bballguy 04-03-2013 02:05 PM

Honestly, Kesler is the X-Factor now...If we can get him 100% healthy, he can go back to being that top 10 player he was few years back, and this team can have a legit shot at making a good run; is that likely to happen? No, I don't think so, considering we've been waiting for almost 2 years now for him to get back to form...
