well, they called it an elbow but from the replay it looked like a high shoulder hit. bieksa may have caught his jaw so he was wobbly afterwards.

apparently next years winter classic will be a double header with the second game being in........ los angeles.
Allan Walsh
@walsha
As a few people have reported recently, including @TheFourthPeriod, there will be an outdoor game in Los Angeles next season. Deal is done.
granted hes only a player agent reporting it, not a member of the nhl staff or a team.

Lord, can you imagine how bad the ice will be outdoors in LA? It won't have the same feeling without the snow on the ground, etc.

I went to LA last season for the nye game against Canucks. They made a small outdoor rink for fans and tourists to skate on. The rink was a bit watery, quality of the ice looked like robson square's. Hopefully for the winter classic it will be better. Posted via RS Mobile |

thinking the heritage classic would be during feb and also that the millionaire or a different older jersey(so they canucks can make more money) will be used for the game. would be awesome if it was the skate, they played the flames and found a way to retire bure's number on the same day while showing his goal against the flames

That is a perfect idea and a great reason to hold the classic as well.

raising in gm place broadcasted live to bc place. have it done secretly with no one anticipating it. dim the lights, flash the bure goal against the flames with some of his goal totals and other well known goals. switches live to a player walking down the hallway from the locker room, to the ice. eventually shows the 10, hits the ice, skates to below his jersey where he joins his family and a select few(odjick quinn etc) watching it raise. fuckin epic. only in my dreams

I totally hear what you guys are saying and agree. My point was aimed more to those who felt bad for the flames leaving kip out to dry in his last year and not being able to win for him or give him a chance at the cup. I would say at this point kip has more or less checked out. If he wanted a chance to win he would have opened himself to a trade instead of refusing to report ( basically self imposing a ntc on the flames and screwing them to a degree). It's obvious that the game isn't a top priority for him anymore. So I dont feel any sympathy for him in that regard.
Don't get me wrong I understand where he's coming from and respect the choice he made.

The big thing is Thomas is a fucken retard who did it for himself and has nothing to do about his family and Kipper did it for his family and he's still playing. The Flames gave him a NTC and he has every right to decline.
