Personally I want to see a Canucks vs Detroit matchup. The last time we faced them was well you know, the goal from centre ice. It was during a time when the Canucks were on the rise and since then we have arguably been one of hockeys top teams. I've been waiting for us to meet again in the playoffs and see a nice skill vs skill series. |
Eh..........not a good idea to 'pick' opponents/the supposed easiest one. With the Canucks luck, we'll probably end up facing a challenging team in the 1st round |
I remember when I was happy we got LA in stead of SJ last year. ha. this time ill leave it to the hockey gods. |
Nucks always seem to struggle against DET Posted via RS Mobile |
i remember last season or the one before, people were choosing the Canuck's second round opponent already even before we even finished the first round |
hoping la and stl meet first round, guaranteed to beat the hell out of each other resulting in injuries being carried into next round |
There is no such thing as an "easy" match up, good teams just make those match ups look easy. The D has good size, but our forward group, for the most part, is soft and small (no homo). The Canucks lack a Backes/Brown/Lucic/Doan type player. When the Sedins are slumping, the Raymond and Ebbetts won't win you a cup. |
The team needs to tighten up defensively and put in a 60min effort if it wants any chance agains the teams in contention |

Kassian is not that type of player, yet...maybe in 3-5 years. edit - Gillis was probably banking on Booth to be that type of player |
powerforwards can give the edge to win championships http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...PRAm0O6ofSRQRB LA kings have 6 power forward on their top 6 williams kopitar brown penner richards carter |
I think I've said this before... our team is still to soft too even come close to where we were two seasons ago |
^ We needed someone legit, like Raffi Torres... |

^no.... were are too soft. that's the truth list one player on our roster that makes the opposing team fear them list one player on our bottom 6 that can play gritty as fuck and be able to chip in every other game offensively and not be a liability (in the playoffs) we have maybe one or two players that have potential for #2 but they aren't even close Stanley Cup formula is toughness and size on every line that can share the scoring when one or two lines get shutdown for a game or two or be firing on all cylinders |
2013 Nucks Sedin-Sedin-Burrows Higgins-Kesler-Roy Raymond-Lapierre-Hansen Sestitio-Ebbett-Weise vs 2012 Kings Penner-Kopitar-Brown Carter-Richards-Williams King-Stoll-Nolan Clifford-Fraser-Lewis lol |
Kunitz-Crosby-Iginla Morrow-Malkin-Neal Cooke-Jokinen-Dupuis Glass-Sutter-Adams Kennedy/Bennett Bylsma can line juggle for years too :sweetjesus: granted this is 100% healthy |
2012 Kings =/= 2010 Blackcocks > 2007 Ducks |

IMO until the day Edler/Bieksa/Ballard/Garrison (less Garrison since he's seems to be getting confident to shoot now) plays like they are paid to do so then our defense is the biggest problem. Edler needs to play like the #1 Dman/Norris/50 point/$5 million dollar dman! Bieksa gotta play like the way he did in the 2011 playoffs. Ballard needs to suck AVs cock for ice time. Our best dman is Hamhuis and a youngster in TAN MAN. |
Defense do win championships but they don't need all 3 pairings to be top notch. The top pairing usually take care of everything and the bottom 4 just chip in when possible offensively and defensively. It's hard to pair up Hamhuis and Garrison because Edler and Bieksa are just gonan let goals in. |
