Bah, I still honestly can say I would prefer to watch an important game at home with a few buddies (maybe even alone) than go watch a game live.

It's just me, I don't get the whole "LIVE" thing.
Sure the energy and atmosphere's there.
But I don't feel anywhere as focused into the game when I'm watching live.

I've sat in several different areas of the arena over the years,
and I just feel so dettached from the play (yet I'm so close)...
cause a camera following the play up close will always give me a better view
than me watching at the arena. Sucks when the play's at the other end.

The lack of commentatary just drives me nuts. Game just feels so "dry" without it.

The possibility of douchy people around you (I personally never encountered one before) can distract you from the game.

I'm not saying it's bad to watch it live, but not my preference as I feel more attached and focused on the game when I'm :alone:

And, it's also way more fun to spam in here when Canucks score, or rage when the other team scores.

I don't watch Canuck games for a social event, so it gets annoying when there's distraction in any way or form.

^ I agree, especially sitting in the club seat section. It's boring to watch with the people I was surrounded with.

kwy 04-19-2013 03:18 PM

For me, nothing matches the fun and energy of being there. The people around me have been pretty cool the last few times.

Same here. Had box seats to a playoff game (vs Anaheim years ago). Did not enjoy myself at all.

Didn't help that I had suits around me and none of them were really interested in the game. But it was just so hard to follow the plays. Much rather watch at home with a large screen and crank up that volume for the "live" experience. :fullofwin:

:lawl: I happened to watch that game when I was in college.
Some guy set up a TV in the cafeteria.

I think everyone including myself was jumping up and down like Jovanovski after that goal.

bloodmack 04-19-2013 08:15 PM

I remember my first game. 1998 ducks vs nucks won 5 to 2 I still have the jersey I got that day. :fullofwin:

best game i've ever been to still to this day and i was in the upper bowl with concrete to my back for it lol

Schneids getting the start tonight. Higgins was taking shifts with Roy and Hansen but stayed on the ice late, so probably won't play. Kesler was practicing between Kass and Raymond, so hopefully that means no more Ebbet on line 3!

spoon.ek9 04-20-2013 10:38 AM

once we get rid of ebbett and barker, things will look a lot better. i don't expect that will happen until we enter the playoffs though since we're so close. obviously the more rest for higgins and bieksa the better :)

Minnesota hockey is best hockey. Crosby and Toews came here to develop

Minnesota has a nice college program, not sure I can say more than that.

kwy 04-20-2013 01:37 PM
