Thank god we didn't have an 82 game season to see this lol

kristianhay 05-07-2013 09:18 PM

I'm actually so appalled at how bad those last fucking calls were. Wingels draws both. HUGE dive on Bieka's soft cross check, and with Daniel Sedin's first career hit he apparently can kill guys now? Get the fuck out.

Of course the Sharks played better over the whole series, but the Canucks deserved this one. The refs are NOT supposed to decide a game, they're suppose to make sure it stays within the rules. I'm really fucking pissed off.

A goalie that's considered to be elite can't be bobbling pucks like that and losing track of shots in such important games like these.
I don't know whether it's the pressure or what. :heckno:

I still blame AV for not putting the goalie that's clearly been playing better for whatever stupid reasons.

This isn't peewee club hockey where everyone gets a fucking turn to play.
You play the goalie that gives you the best chance to win. PERIOD.

I'm also so pissed off at the face offs.
I never seen a team get dominated this much in the faceoffs.
Canucks RARELY win faceoffs, and even when they do, they get out-muscled and get the puck stripped immediately. :fulloffuck:

If I recall, 90% of that OT was played in the Canuck zone. Sharks almost scored so many times during even strength.

Canucks Hockey blog:

Sharks full value for series win. By far they were the better team. But anyone who says NHL officiating is okay needs to lay off the crack

MG1 05-07-2013 09:22 PM

Good news is, we'll have a long time to forget this season.

Now, that the Canucks are out, please, please, please, hockey gods, whatever happens don't let the scHabs get past round one. I hate the Canadiens more than Boston, Chicago, San Jose, and Calgary combined. And no, they are not a Canadian team, they're from fucking Québec.

pastarocket 05-07-2013 09:22 PM

-wonder what the callers to Team 1040 are saying right now?

van19 05-07-2013 09:23 PM

Fuck. Schneider .. What are u fucking doing .
These fucking refs, no words for these morons

68style 05-07-2013 09:23 PM

Yah I'd be all smiles too if I knew no one could blame me for losing, I'm walking away from this mess of a team in the off season and everyone loves me now because I'm funny on Twitter

I bet MG's interview will go something like: "I think we still have a pretty competitive team, we had a solid game and some unlucky bounces. As for Lui we will see what we can work out in the summer."

E60_M5 05-07-2013 09:23 PM

They aint gonna make it far anyways, so its a good thing they get kicked early on and deal with the problems.

- MG needs to get face the truth and make a good move, hes been sticking his thumb in his ass waiting for a killer Lu deal...keep dreaming buddy.
- Lu / Schneider situation is just retarded, every other players in the leauge will look at the Canucks that treats their players like shit.
- AV should of been fired long ago, hes been out coached 3 years in a row in the playoffs.
- Sisters, these guys seems like they have their tickets booked back to sweden already for next week. Maybe they want to fly cheap before the summer high season?

If he says this I hope he gets the axe along with AV lol

I just feel happy for Luongo. He deserves better.

As for our penalty kill.. I dont know..

Watching Fluery let those soft goals in made me feel a bit better....

If I'm Aquilini, I would be pretty pissed that my team is bounced out of the first round of the playoffs for the second straight year.

-would love to hear the conversation that Francesco has with MG.

lol if I were Lu I'd be grinning from ear to ear too

The problem was never (entirely) with the goalie, but the team itself.

Sharks power plays 24, Canucks power plays 10. Don't see that often
Last 2 games, the Canucks had 15 penalties. That's honestly one of the most outrageous stats I've heard in a while. I'm not saying we lost the series because of that, but today's game, yes.

Anyways, I wanted to throw out a thanks to AV for where he has taken the Canucks in his tenure with the team. We all ended up hating him, but he did good things for the club and was 1 win away from never having this conversation. Good luck wherever he may end up.

Goaltending was fine....I called that goal 5 seconds before the shot was even taken....Marleau skated right up the middle, and 2 guys watched him skate up to 5 feet from the net expecting each other to take him....If you are going to allow point-blank shots on the goalie, you can't blame him...no matter how it goes in...

dL 05-07-2013 09:37 PM

Now that this year is over. These are my thoughts.

- I was always a Schneider fan. After this season and playoff, I am going to stick loyal with the goalie who actually brought us to Game 7 of the SCF. I admit I was wrong.
- Sedin's are the most classiest players you can ever ask for in an organization. I hate to say it but I truly believe we will never see a cup with them. However, I really do hope they can stay and retire here. Both are great in different ways. While winning a cup is everything, having great memories, staying classy and enjoying the game is also just as important imo.
- AV. I think we all know what's going to happen. Gillis, maybe one more year.
- We need guys who can actually "possess" the puck. Size helps. Kassian is a great example. Kesler is another. Sedin's too if it's not playoff. Everybody else, it'd be a miracle if they can possess it for more than 5 seconds long.
- Puck moving D. No need to elaborate. Pretty obvious.

Coaching Style:

- AV style is always on the boards. One timer from blue line and pray that we can tip it in.
- AV style is always play safe. Don't risk. Play safe. Try to do a pass in the centre like Ballard? Benched.
- AV and young prospects. Case and point.
- My fav style has always been Quennville and the Blackhawks. A style that promotes players to always be moving around, taking possession of pucks, while another person covers your zone.

These are the only players that I would like to keep:

Forwards: Burrows, Kesler, Roy, Kassian, Hansen
Defenseman: Hamhuis, Garrison, Bieksa, Tanev, Corrado
Goalie: Luongo

That's all I have. It's been a short and fun season. It's a pleasure again chatting and interacting with you guys here. On a positive note, there are more time for me to do more important things in life, and to enjoy the sunshine.

Cup is not everything. Experience and enjoyment is just as great. As we know by now, there's always next year.

Enjoy the sunshine boys. Get a downpipe. Drop an inch. See you in August!
