It's an extreme example, but it's still to prove a point -- even outside the written rules of the game, I would think there's "unwritten" rules about how it should be played. This isn't soccer. Imagine if people in the NHL faked injuries the way people do in soccer. It would ruin the sport, IMO

Sedins are elite play makers and we can't / don't score because our butt hurt GM Gillis hasn't brought in a top line winger for the value of schneids or luu playing moneyball... which he is so famously known for.
Sedins don't do the dirty work but they can put up points. When they get shut down, secondary scoring are suppose to chip in but they don't. Why is it the sedins to blame? It's not their fault. Gillis traded hodgson because of some butt hurt reasons too.

I think that's putting the horse before the cart. The reason why the Nucks have so many difficulties with the refs is because they already have a reputation for embellishing and faking in order to gain an advantage. If they were to turn it up a notch and fake even more, it'd backfire, big time.

Just one more example of the inconsistency in the reffing in the NHL, last complaint, I swear.. This is a HUGE, bone-crushing hit - yet of course it's clean, especially in the playoffs. From Cal Clutterbuck, repeat offender no less.
If you watch this, then the Daniel Sedin penalty, it's an absolute joke. Inconsistency is in every series, not just ours, and it honestly makes me not want to follow the NHL.

did you see malkin today? that guy plays with intensity and does not back down. ovi is another guy that plays tough hard-nosed hockey when he's not taking days off. the super skills they possess puts them in elite status but don't question their ability to play hard-nosed hockey with canadians.
