I just want to see him shit on the idiots we have in the Vancouver media... so yeah maybe not best for the team |

If I hadn't heard on the radio though i would have thought his record would have been better as well Posted via RS Mobile |
Torts is too old school, his shit doesn't fly anymore in the new NHL where all the players are pampered celebrities and have too much leverage. It'd be Mike Keenan Part 2... except with better sound clips and less goalie pulls. |
Torts has come back bone which the Canucks haven't had in a while. Maybe he would light the fire under the asses which is needed |

well then... With Sestito signed the canucks have 850k of cap space to play with... this is before a Goaltender being moved and before Tanev, Raymond, Roy, Lappy, Manny, Alberts, Barker have been tendered any offers Vancouver Canucks Salary Cap Chart and then this tool http://capgeek.com/canucks/cap-calculator/ ha ha ha ha |

Sestito.. no thanks Jeff |
Losing Lappy would be a big mistake. |
Signing sesito before we even have a coach?? |
I'm not too concerned about Gillis not talking to the RFA/FA. He'll probably hire a coach first and then ask what assets he wants/needs/prefers and then go from there. Generally the negotiation process doesn't take that long granted both parties have been talking throughout the course of the season I'll give Sestito a chance.. based on the fact that this signing is strictly for his size, but this guy can't fight and needs to play more physically.. but I guess we finally have a legit enforcer now? 2yr/1.5m isn't too bad..... but it is a one-way so... BTW, bold moves? Trade Edler, keep Ballard? Wouldn't mind really... |
Would Tortorella be the right kind of coach for the Canucks? A no nonsense coach, takes no weaksauce play from players or bullshit reporting by the media. -also has a Stanley Cup championship on his resume from his coaching days with Tampa. Come on Gillis, get the coach hiring decision right! |
Trade Edler Posted via RS Mobile |
Because bold moves. To COL: VAN 1st, Edler, Schneider, Schroeder To VAN: COL 1st Colorado needs a #1 D and franchise goalie, 1st and Schroeder just thrown into the mix to make things fair Before anyone calls me crazy, I'm fucking serious |

That trade..... Edlers not a #1 Dman. If Colorado wanted a #1 dman they'd draft Jones. Being compared as the BBC version of Pronger without the nastiness Pronger had. |
Edler's value is still high... as long as you can make management think he can still be Norris worthy... :fullofwin: Yeah, for sure they can draft Jones but they ain't going no where with Varlamov |
holy shit canucks have/had so many bad contracts burrows is sick, but not 4.5 mil sick sedins...12 mil for no show in the playoffs ballard...booth...~2 mil for malhotra and raymond!?!?! at least theyre 100% gone |

Sure there is upside to that deal, but every trade MG has made so far has had upside to it that made sense at the time of the deal, and many have not panned out yet thus far. Who knows a Van 1st this year could turn out to be more of an impact player than Jones or Mackinnon, you just never know. I don't think bold moves means throwing smart/calculated out the window |
Canucks interview Eakins for AV's job: Marlies' Eakins interviewing for Canucks head coaching job I'm really surprised by how many Leaf's fans are still so in love with this guy and feel that he should have gotten the Leaf's coaching job instead of Carlyle, especially after what Carlyle has done for them this season. I really like what Eakins brings to the table with regards to how he coaches and connects with players, completely different from what we know about AV and I think it will be a refreshing change for the stale dressing room. I'm up in the air about how he can adapt himself to play a more offensive system, but I think that's secondary since his first job will be to get the offensive guys to believe they can play offensively again. |

In fact, we probably won't have a good chance at the cup for the next ~5 seasons. A bold move has to be made, doesn't matter what it is, if we get MacKinnon we can actually stay relevant. 9/10 times a team will pick him over Jones. Everybody should watch this dude play, he tore it up in the Memorial Cup, and will be the best 1st overall pick since probably Tavares. I'd put him on the same level if not higher than him.. and he's only 17. He's got high hockey IQ, amazing passing and shooting, playmaking ability, and good skater but most importantly has leadership qualities. He ain't Crosby, but not that far away from him. But yeah, based on Gillis' track record there's no way in hell this is happening. Everything has a risk no doubt but this might be one of the few times it'll be actually worth it. McDavid is the next Crosby, and there's no way in hell you can trade for that pick, and we aren't gonna tank for it in 2015. This is as close as it gets, just my 2 cents. |
