But Lu's recent history with the Bruins isn't that good to say the least. What the Pen's need is a goalie like Holtby from the Caps. He didn't take any shit from the Bruins, and they crumbled like bullies tend to do. http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/1083487/pev.gif Quote:
I love the Bolts, but it still surprised me that they had a few of the top scorers in the league, yet they still shit the bed. :rukidding: Quote:
They're more interested in Swedes and Yanks that couldn't give a fxxk about the Canucks. Quote:
Garrison and Hamhuis were free agent signings, and they practically begged MG to bring them to Vancouver. A big issue I have with Gillis is that he's an active agent in the NHL. There have been a few conflicts over the years with the power he wields over negotiations and the players he represents. But the thing that really gets me about Gillis is this..... http://www.vanmag.com/sites/files/ad...illis-add1.jpg I HATE the Bruins. :fuckyea: |

Off the top of my head, the only legit late rounders we drafted were Bieksa and Hansen.. :lol |

the amount of decent players from bc are few, so basically you are shitting on canucks for not being able to draft the 1 decent bc player maybe every year. turris was 3rd overall nugent hopkins 1st price 5th ladd 4th connolly 6th kane 4th weber 49th (we got kesler at 23 and had 60th.) lucic at 50th (we traded 31st and 46th carney and a goalie? fkin nonuts) j.benn at 159th (p.white, ellington and nonis traded most of other picks) the fact is besides the nonis fuck ups, that canucks had no chance of getting other bc talent |

My issue with the Canucks is that our talent is not Canadian born and bred. Kesler, Schneider, Booth, Schroeder, Ballard, Higgins, Alberts and Sestito are all American. Edler and the Sedins are from Sweden. Hansen and Jensen are Danes. That leaves Bieksa, Burrows, Raymond, Lappy, Lu, and Roy as our Canadians. Burrows is despised, Bieksa and Roy underperformed, Raymond was broken (although he was good this past season) and they want to move Lu. We have 19 Canadians on the team, and few stood out last year. That said, few Canucks stood out... Let's look at the Bruins roster. They also have 19 Canadians on their team, but look at some of these names! Marchand, Lucic, Boychuk, Bergeron, Peverly, Ferrence, Horton, Paille, Seguin, Thornton..... Those are real Canadian hockey players. The Bruins have 5 Americans on their roster, and they're nobodies. Same goes for the Blackhawks. They have 16 Canadians on the roster, with names like Crawford, Seabrook, Toews, Sharp, Emery. They have 8 Yanks, most notably Kane. The rest are inconsequential. I don't know if that means anything. But it's interesting to talk about. Quote:
You're a braver man than I am. :lol |
if you are going to count schroeder, sesito, alberts and jensen, then i think you forgot a bunch of canadians. kassian, garrison, hamhuis, tanev, corrado, pinnizotto, ebbett, barker, weise. there are more canadians on the team than one thinks its just plugs like pinnizotto, ebbett and barker need to be replaced with better talent which should happen this year if we free cap space |
No bc/vancouver born player want to play in vancouver until late or prime of their career. They most likely want to fuck around in other town before coming back home for a discount (hamhuis, garrison). With the spray paint crap at the serbian church no way would lucic ever come play for the Canucks, although he loves this city and the Canucks. :fuckthatshit: |

We need every dollar when Booth and Ballard are a waste of cap space/overpaid |

:lol Srsly tho, I'd love to see Kassian and Weise put pucks in the net, while Corrado destroys any other team that tests his blue line. Oddly enough, we're above the league average in both height and weight, and while the Sedins are still referred to as the "sisters", they're not small guys. Check out the team stats on height, weight, and age. james mirtle: 2013 NHL teams by weight, height and age - A hockey journalist's blog Oddly enough, Calgary has the lightest team average. That surprised me, along with Edmonton being a pretty big collective group. Quote:
I really wish we had signed Shea Weber. He would be a hell of an acquisition for the boys in blue and green. :( |

One thing that bugs me is, with a whl team in our backyard. The canucks don't seek to draft any of them. Other then connauton... passed up on all the other guys. Posted via RS Mobile |

Yes lets talk about homegrown talent we could of drafted after they become successful so it makes us look smarter than our scouts. Pretty stupid if u ask me. Posted via RS Mobile |

wish our team had that competitive spirit. yes its more so of a NA hockey player attribute |

Gillis was going to do a one year. And watch Nashville match and Weber becomes UFA the following season. Or not match and we have him. |

are we really on the topic of BC Born and bred hockey players... Because that is pretty damn retarded. You draft whats best for the team, all those players are great, and even if our scout staff had their eyes on them, if they didn't fit what they need then thats too bad |
