I don't think that Torts will expect everyone to block shots etc. AFAIK, when he coached Tampa to their Stanley Cup, they were one of the higher scoring teams in the league. Coaches have to adapt to the players they are given, and if you look at New York's roster this past year, they didn't have a lot of highly skilled guys.

Rick Nash, Derick Brassard, Carl Hagelin and Derek Stepan are probably the guys I would label as "highly skilled". Brad Richards too, but he had a miserable year. Everyone else follows more of a Alex Burrows mold, guys like Ryan Callahan, Taylor Pyatt, Ryane Clowe, Chris Kreider, etc.

I expect we see some carry over from his time in New York, but I also think that he will focus on being more offensive. Just my 2C.

lol... i think out of everyone on the canucks roster, burrows has the least to worry. he usually brings his game most nights.

Don't think he's worried.. if there was concern I don't think he'd be using Twitter to talk about it.

No need to worry about first line and defensive core. Only problem with our D is they need a better coach telling them what to do.

2nd 3rd and 4th line will get the most heat

If nucks really do get Torts, I hope he uses the Sedins for PK as well, ease up the work load a bit on guys like Burrs and Kes who double duty on PK and PP.

This is funny..my friend and I were saying Canucks should hire Torts if NYR gets knocked out...lo and behold! Lol! This is great! I'd love if Torts gets hired, Canucks are always too nice. Bruins and Hawks sure as hell aren't nice and look where they're now. It's going to be an exciting next season for sure if he gets hired. Anyone else also thinks Ferraro and Torts can pass as brothers? They always strike me as look alikes, must be the beards. Haha
