LOLOL 7.5 caphit for a 36 year old

sounds like a Glen Sather move

7seven 07-13-2012 10:43 AM

I'm thinking Sather or Holmgren.......but as a Sabres fan, I'm also afraid it could be Pegula forcing Reiger to make the offer, Pegula seriously has way too much money and this is up his alley, I think he's the wealthiest owner in the NHL, he's even funding the building of a new arena/complex for the Sabres to practice in as well as one at Penn State.

Goalie Eddie Lack has 2 days to let the #Canucks know if he will accept their qualifying offer.

News1130 Sports ‏@News1130Sports
If Lack does not accept, he could go to training camp without a contract.

News1130 Sports ‏@News1130Sports
Also rumblings Lack could play in his native Sweden next year as well.
Do not want to lose Lack.

So Kyle Wellwood signed a 1 year 1.6mill deal with the Jets. Good to see him back in the peg

highfive 07-13-2012 02:56 PM

Apparently Luongo is out of the WSOP.

Maybe we would get some news over the weekend or next week.

murd0c 07-13-2012 03:04 PM

we won almost 20k pretty darn awesome

Ronin 07-13-2012 03:43 PM

LOL fuck off $7.5+ for Doan. I was thinking $6m was already stupid but with the cap going up, sure, whatever. $6m x 2-3 years. Fuck off $30m. Who's that stupid? Sather? Garth Snow?

damn... wtf. At this rate, we're never going to go for another good cup run until another bunch of years, when we develop some noobie as a top forward (hopefully Sedin's haven't become too old and declined by then).

I just don't see Canucks being able to get that impact player we're missing without overpaying ridiculously and shooting ourselves in the foot. No one's going to give us one for Luongo (we're probably just going to get decent prospects instead), and it's impossible to get players over here when other MG's are offering so much money.

Mike Oxbig 07-13-2012 05:04 PM

luongo++ can probably get us vincent lecavelier but cap hit is too high

unless the Sedins can change the way they play, our window is already closed.

spideyv2 07-13-2012 05:18 PM

Sedins are great players, but they don't have the battle level it takes to win

inb4 a bunch of sedin dickriders fail me

I agree 100% they need more of a edge and drive in a way. But they just need to be surrounded with those type of players because they are they type of people that makes everyone around them better.

WSOP Main Event Day 4 Level 16: Bubble Bursts in Dramatic Fashion | BLUFF Poker News

Quote:

Hockey fans in Vancouver have been eating up the coverage of their star goalie, Roberto Luongo, as he plays in his first WSOP Main Event. He might not be their goalie for much longer though, if you read between the lines of a conversation Luongo had with another player at his table, Kamran Siddiqui.

“You played for my hometown team,” said Siddiqui, who is from Miami.

“Who’s that?” asked Luongo.

“The Florida Panthers,” answered Siddiqui.

“Oh yeah, I might be going back there,” said Luongo, while smiling.

“Yeah?” asked Siddiqui.

“Might be,” replied Luongo.

Shortly after the bubble burst Luongo was eliminated. He finished 634th for $19,227.

Don't worry guys. As long as we have some grit players like Kassian we will win the cup

That's if he gets to play.

SkinnyPupp 07-13-2012 07:49 PM

So realistically, what is the trade going to be for Lu to Florida?

Obviously Theodore will be sent back. Good thing IMO, he still has it and would make a great solid veteran backup for Schneider. Not sure what his personality is like though.

Then what? I know they want Bjugstad, but I wonder what Florida is thinking

Grit? Guy looked like Taylor Pyatt when he was on the ice.

It depends how Florida values Luongo. In a perfect world, I'd be ecstatic if we got:

Rights to Versteeg, Gudbranson/Bjugstad, Theodore & Goc.

We get a scoring winger for the 2nd line, a top prospect, a backup for Schneids and a third line center we're missing. If we get 3 out of the 4, I'd say thats a success.

Theodore also has a NTC/NMC so I don't know how'd he feel playing backup to a young Schneider

Yeah, Pyatt sure challenged the entire Hawks bench to a fight and made them shit their pants in the Chicago game when Daniel got elbowed right?

Give the kid a chance. I'll guarantee you if he has a breakout year next season putting up 20/20 you'll be in line for his jersey :lol

A full offseason can do wonders for Kassian. He's also been training/hanging around with the Sedins and Malholtra this offseason.

hotshot1 07-13-2012 09:38 PM

^^ If we got Versteeg, Gudbranson/Bjugstad, Theodore & Goc for Luongo, that would be one of the biggest rip-offs ever.

If the trade's with Florida, I really want Weiss. I think he would be an awesome fit here. He can play 2nd line center while Kesler's gone. When Kesler comes back, Maybe he can move to the wing? A 2nd line of Weiss-Kesler-Booth line would look nice. If he stays center, a 3rd line of Raymond-Weiss-Hansen is pretty nice too.

Mike Oxbig 07-13-2012 09:46 PM

luongo + raymond for theo + bjugstad/Gudbranson

please

Who knows? We got Booth for 2 aging scrubs that had 1 year deals :lol

No way we get Weiss. He's to Florida as Kesler is to us.

A huge part of their centers which would cause a hole if he was traded.

Initial CBA Proposal from owners to NHLPA:

1-reduce players hockey related revenues to 46% from 57 %.
2-10 seasons in NHL before being UFA.
3-contracts length limited to 5 years
4-no more salary arbitration.
5- entry-level contract 5 years instead of 3.

Work stoppage here we come....:okay:

SkinnyPupp 07-13-2012 10:09 PM

Obviously the first proposal is going to be extreme
