Gillis says the obvious
Players are not entitled to automatically to play for their own city.
hahaha
says Nashville will likely match to PROTECT their market
I think Nashville needs to match to protect their identity
@darrenDreger: Dubinsky, Erixson and 1st believed to be 3 of 4 pieces included in Nash trade.

That's one roster player, a prospect and a draft pick.
Tim Erixon?
ASSETS: Has a good frame, very good instincts for the game and solid bloodlines. Displays all-around upside and the ability to log a ton of minutes. Is relatively low-maintenance.
FLAWS: Needs to gain strength to better handle NHL forwards. Also must play with more of an edge to his game in order to maximize his full potential.
CAREER POTENTIAL: Big-minute defenseman with upside.

@darrenDreger: Dubinsky, Erixson and 1st believed to be 3 of 4 pieces included in Nash trade. | Gillis better hope that, apparently only reason Canucks didn't go through with Weber offer sheet, they were talking to his agent about it, was because they figured no offer sheet Nashville wouldn't match. Aqua man apparently wanted Weber at all costs and Gillis and co determined no offer sheet Nashville wouldn't match.
wow, if that 4th piece isn't McDoungh or Staal or Kreider, CBJ got ripped off.

That fourth piece better be HUGE, or else the Jackets just got fleeced. Howson is a terrible GM.

Artem Anisimov is the 4th piece in the Rick Nash deal.

Dubinsky, Erixon, Anisimov, 1st for Nash
LOL, Howson continues to cement himself as the worst GM in the NHL.

Dubinsky
Erixon (he's going to be good) but he's 21 years old. There top d prospect.
1st: Really deep draft in 2013
Anisimov: Russian, CBA lockout...KHL??
Had they got another prospect like Kreider this deal would be more likable from both sides??

So, 2 third liners, a D-man who probably doesn't want to play for them, and a 20-30th pick. LOL. Looks like Luongo's return will be shit.

Erixon weasled his way out of Calgary and forced a trade to the Rangers specifically because his dad played for them and family lives there. hahaha, and now he's in Columbus.

Consider the optics though.
Your franchise players has made it clear he wants to be traded. It would be awkward as fuck starting training camp with that distraction.

Pretty bad trade overall in my opinion. Dubinsky/Anisimov are second/third line players. Erixon is the only piece I really like in this trade, as the first round pick is garunteed to be a low one.
If you look at Columbus' forwards now, they don't look so great. Howson needs to be fired.

From HFboards Quote:
Do we just hand the Stanley Cup over to the Rangers or how does this process work???
Elite Offensive Talent: Gaborik, Richards, Nash
Up and Comers: Stepan, Krieder, Hagelin
2 Way Captain: Callahan
Depth: Pyatt, Rupp, Boyle, Asham (Big and gritty much?)
Deep and proven D: Staal, McD, MDZ, Girardi, Stralman, Sauer
Vezina Goaltending: Lundqvist
How is this even fair?
And don't you guys still have cap space?!?!
