7 Mil on a 1 year term is not overpayment, thats about right, especially for a team with $19 mil in cap space. If it was a multi year deal, definitely overpayment.

I've ran into him a few times last season, I would say he's barely 170lbs, even though Canucks have him listed as 185.

For a team like the Canes to sign him to a one year deal, I think they will benefit. He's not a guy (at least hasn't proven it yet) that deserves a multi-year deal at that kind of cash. He could be a piece for the Canes to compete for the division against the Caps, Panthers and Lightning though.

So will Doan make his decision known on Friday? Thought I read he was going to wait until Friday to see what the Yotes situation is with ownership. Everyone is going east. I think he signs with the Rangers of the Flyers. Somewhere in the east.

I'm pretty sure I read he was going to give coyotes until Friday to get their shit together. THEN, he well take his time deciding on a team, if coyotes are still a mess. I wouldn't expect anything until August...

I'm thinking if we sign Doan thats when the Lu deal get's done since we need the cap space. If we don't there is no need to rush since we have the cap space.

Zetterberg, Datsuyk, Frazen, Bertuzzi, Flippula, Cleary, Samuelsson, Helm, Eaves, Tootoo, Kronwall, Quincey, White, and a healthy Howard.
