um.... which gen accord? not a lot of people go with rv6 j-pipe vs xlr8 because of clearance and performance.

It is not that it is cheap, it is designed to attract people who think more is better. You might want to check to see how much voltage your alternator is giving during your car startup. A surge will kill LEDs just like that, if you want your bulb to last always have a voltage conditioner before the LED bulbs. LED are essentially chips, it doesn't take much to fry them. On the bright side, most people who retrofit LED into older cars will blow out the lights right away, rather than on the road with the horrible glare with HID retrofit.

Take a look at Luxeon bulbs they have 2 LEDs but with good cooling design and will be way brighter than the bulbs you got.

I bought many of those cheap LED bulbs for my cars before, none of them work very well, the 5w city lights are even worse, it starts melting after 1hr of driving in summer.

the more reliable bulbs are the one from Cree or those with single giant diode, they tend to have better material and brighter

If that's the case, then you would need to install an in line current limiting resistor. That should help protect against some surges.

Kits are plug and play, installing LED's is as easy as changing the dome light with any regular bulb. If you can get the plastic cover off the light that is really the hardest part of the entire job.

It's like buying fake side vents for a stock civic and saying it's a performance upgrade

Fitment on some of Vorsteiner products are not much better than ebay stuff, and they are over priced. I have V front lip on my car, that's how I know.
Nothing beats the fitment of OEM parts.

Top and bottom end gasket kits for my MR2 motor. Had to search around a bit; some places wanted $350+ for all this!

I saw that thread, didn't know that was your STB though.

It seems to be isolated to the 2nd generation FX's. Seems to me from what was posted it is a problem with poor manufacturing on the actual car from infiniti (the part of the fenderwell in the engine bay is not completely flat as it should be).

Dalton, where'd you get the gasket kits from and how much were they? Super interested in rebuilding a spare engine I have.

Cree Q5 7W LED projector beam reverse lights. Crazy bright, but not sure why I bought them. Sort of an impulse buy for no apparent reason.

tastic 01-23-2014 04:54 PM

A front lip and some blue led strips for a DIY footwell and cupholder lighting setup.
