Yeah i guess the "Function=Form" statement in my signature gives away my thoughts on stretched tires eh?

17x9 205 40

IMO 205/40 looks great on a 17x9 as long as its a smaller car. My 205/40s were great on my 18x9 on the GTI. 245/40s on the 17x9s on my M3 though. Nothing wrong with looks over function on the right car.

dared3vil0 03-09-2014 07:54 PM

Fair enough, but as you said, 245/40 on a 9" is the perfect fit imho. :megusta:

Your fitment was definitely beautiful on the GTI
It will go on a small car and its the only way to fit the wheels in!

Here's the face of the wheel

Its currently @ SpeedSyndicate waiting to be mounted:fullofwin:

westopher 03-09-2014 10:11 PM

Those wheels are fucking sick. They look like OZ futuras but something looks different. What are they?

jackp0t 03-09-2014 10:13 PM

thanks man!

there "Zauber" i actually see them alot on Volkswagen

spec is 17x9 et 18

jackp0t 03-09-2014 10:22 PM

Btw @westopher what kind of coilover did you use on your gti
I put coils on my bros gti mk7 (ST coilovers) comparing to your old car it was definitely lower

this is the wheel/tire spec
18x8.5 et 31 w/ 205 40 18
18x9.5 et 45 w/ 215 40 18

westopher 03-10-2014 09:29 AM

I was on Koni coils. All the way down in the back. 3 threads left in the front. Do you mean his car was lower or mine was? When I was on the 215/35s on my old borbets the car was hilariously undriveable all the way down. I hit subframe all the time.

fliptuner 03-10-2014 12:26 PM

Interestingly enough, still had perfect alignment. :lawl:

westopher 03-10-2014 12:28 PM

Haha it did. My tires lasted forever on that car!

fliptuner 03-10-2014 12:49 PM

Yeah, they lasted so long, they're still mint, in my garage. :lol

Haha fair enough, you'll be getting better use of it anyways if you're hitting the track.
