Life's a calculated risk. Use your brain, you'll be alright

Pretty pumped for you, looks like it will be a blast. I have a feeling this whole racing/track thing could become an addiction of mine.

$550 seems little pricey but it's been a few years for me. I used to pay about $275 for an event with tons of lap time. Pretty much wide open in the afternoon to enter and exit the track at will. Some peeps on here would remember the Definitive Driving group.

As for insurance, you have none. ICBC wouldn't touch a claim that was on a closed course. That said, use your head and you'll be fine.

Really excited for you westopher

I heard you're supposed to drive the car hard during the break in period, as it helps seat the piston rings better.

thank you.

i wish more ppl had this mentality when it comes to taking their car to the track. there's a few ppl locally who won't go to track days because "they wont be first".. what does that even mean?

any track is as safe as it's driver. i've been taking all my daily drivers to the track for the last.. forever and i've never had any close calls (well just one last yr where i think i fell asleep for a second and went straight off the track.. lol). i also do push pretty hard but never beyond what i'm comfortable with (a lot of ppl oddly need to learn this...)

just be smart, check the ego at the door. enjoy your track day!

white rocket: the $550 reflects the cost of the instruction by proformance iirc. the $275 were for the all you can run open days for those who have been signed off.

I hope I don't have a track full of cowboys thinking they are out to win 24 hrs of Le Mans, but I think thats another positive of knowing everyone out on that track is going to have an instructor in their car that day. If people are being stupid they are going to put a stop to it or they will be off the track by the end of the lap.

i know with proformance (and most lapping days), if they notice a lot of shit, they'll call a drivers meeting to try to clean it up =)

for what its worth, most track days are usually pretty safe. i'd imagine for the price you're paying, everyone has a mutual interest in learning!

i believe in the afternoon, you'll be able to run with the solo drivers so watch out for those assholes! lol

I've only seen 1 guy crash at Mission, and that was because he went in WAY too hot into Turn 4, oversteered, then pussied out and lift-off oversteered the other way into the wall @Cascade.

You should be fine if you're not an idiot.
