Sounds very good! Looking forward to it ;D thanks for your generosity!
I'm complete noob, and know only the things I read online from various forums and articles. But I find reading those things often leaves me feeling like "Ok, I get it now... but how do I start or put this knowledge to actual use on my car?"
Will your blog really teach a noob like me how to get hands on? ;D

Just an update....
Getting closer to going live. I was going to go live awhile ago, but realized my blog looked a little "empty" with only a single article. I decided to prepare several "articles" so there is enough content (hopefully) to get people interested enough to want to return. Hence the short delay.

Since some people seem to be eagerly awaiting this, feel free to PM me your e-mail and I'll tell you the website addresses and where to find things.
As with many projects, I find I'm never satisfied with things and always want to make them better. I'm too picky and anal. For a time I actually had 5 websites running (Blogger, Worpdress hosted, Wordpress on my own server, vBulletin and Xenforo).
After a bunch of testing I decided to go with Blogger and Xenforo. Although Wordpress can do more than Blogger, it has a ton of shit I'll never use. Plus I can't be bothered to start coding and modifying Wordpress to do things that "just work" in Blogger out-of-the-box. As to forum software it's no contest. vBulletin may have more "whiz-bang" features and mods, but it's a pig on server resources. A serious pig. Again, I don't need extensive customization (Xenforo is pretty good on its own) so having a gazillon add-ons doesn't benefit me at all. The reduced server load, however, is a very big plus.
For those interested, these were the biggest delays.

Just want to let you know Dangonay I really appreciate your post. Would love to hear more about your Blog. (My 240 has been busted for almost 6 years because I can't afford to fix it)

For those interested you can visit my blog at: dangonay.blogspot.ca
The articles will start self-publishing on Oct 9th and from then on every Monday. I've finished enough articles for a couple months which will allow me to spend time going over feedback from readers and making adjustments/improvements (or fixing bugs).
You can visit my blog and read the few info pages that explain (hopefully) what I'm trying to do.

Just wondering what type or brand of microchip/fpga are you going to use/have used to develop your electronic gizmos that interface with car ECUs?
PIC, Arduino, Xilinx, Motorola?
Also what HDL?

Also what HDL? | Whoa, not going to get that complex for this course. While I plan on going into great detail I'm not going to turn people into hardware/software engineers.
For the things we're doing I'm going to use PIC because it's something that will be easy for people to learn. And we're not making mission critical devices (which neither PIC or Arduino would be suitable for).
For my own projects I use Freescale and Altium Designer (and yes, I paid for it as opposed to getting a cracked version).

Well, it's been almost a month and my first four articles are up. I would greatly appreciate any feedback (especially criticism) from anyone who cares to take the time to read through things so far. I'm trying to make this "project" interactive and adjust things as people let me know what I'm doing right (and where I'm screwing up).
Thanks in advance.
Oh, and I'm still waiting for Timpo to show up.
