it is very visible with the naked eye, my camera cant zoom in that well , but either way its a VERY long scratch that travels the length of the hood, and its very deep , deep enough so u can feel the dip

please do not reply to me "its not that bad"

cause we all know that's not the point. The point is that i took the car to a place and placed it in their hands to take care of it, and this is what i get.

This reminds me of my job interview at an auto body shop, and how the manager took me around the place to take a look at things. He takes me to the detailing lot and the people I see washing and detailing the cars do not look any older than 20 (except for maybe one or two).

All of the employees wore uniforms to distinguish who they were, but the employees at the detailing department didn't wear any uniform, and they look like they were just kids pulled off the street :suspicious:

Ouch, I see the start of the scratch under one of the lights, and is that the hood of a FR-S?

You might want to start by asking the salesman for a note saying that they did no work on the paint, and the car was delivered with all the protective film still on.

If you are that anal about your car, why didn't you do it yourself? I mean just polish/detail/wax, anyone with the time and effort can do it.

Undercoating and rustproof, you can get it done at a shop. But they won't scratch your paint.

Fantasic911 (sp?) does a very good job as we see here on RS. Maybe he charges a lot of money, but it's quality you can trust, or proven.

they did leave the film on, i took it off when i got home

and yes that is the scratch , its really deep and it extends the length of the hood

every single time when there is a business deal BRING a voice/camcorder for evidence. PEN and PAPER will do the same!

Back on topic, i'm pretty sure you can fight this. Bran new car with it's films on, straight from the dealership to the body shop. Be FIRM, show anger.

take pictures of all your damage and post them up.

try to talk to the manager there again.

make a google review, and remember the internet is like a free lawyer almost. If it gets ugly, then spread the news of their bad service.

Kinda wierd to not have the dealership take off all that stuff and then brig it to an outside shop? If ahything you should have done it yourself or bought it to a reputable detailer and not one of those honduran/mexican car wash sweatshops.
If you had let the dealership detail it, then you could have inspected it before accepting the car. Now your fucked.

its actually not weird at all.

ive worked at dealerships before and still do now,
ive seen what lot boys do to cars that come in,
washing new cars with that brush
lean on it when its sitting there
rip them around the compound

its not weird at all to ask them not to remove the film, this was im certain they have not touched it

which they did not,

the dealership was perfect in dealing with this matter and complied with all my requests

id trust the dealership to do a good job(just let them know you are super anal) because if they dont you can always go back and complain to them and they will fix it correctly i the end and you dont have to go through all that small claims court crap. a dealership is concerned about their name way too much to let one paint gouge ruin their rep

You said the dealership you work at sends all their cars there, that in itself should help you get some assistance from them to get this fixed. What job position are you in? Maybe have your manager help you out and talk to the Detail Shop to get this done. What's a few hundred dollars to get it repainted to all the business you send them.

The Detail Shop may think you're trying to pull a fast one as well since they probably didn't do a detailed walk around in the beginning to know for sure that scratch was not there before. It's not like you pull the stickers off at their shop.

I think a 50/50 split for the paint job is a fair settlement in this case. Your dealership should have hook ups with body shops as well, so you should be in a good position to work something out.

Honestly, you have to expect the worse. Since there are no before and after pictures of the car you took leaving the Kingsway place, it's hard to say that they did it or they are responsible for it. This all depends on their credibility towards their customers. I would just warn others about this place and just keep bugging them to see if they will budge and fix your car. If the scratch is too deep, they will have to repaint your hood. Even that sucks too, nothing beats OEM paint!

That's besides the point. The OP just purchased a brand new car, and to have some idiot scratch it due to carelessness or whatever reason, it sucks.

Get some cans of cavity wax and just spray them into every hole. A LOT cheaper.

Yea Im new to revscene and I actually have an up and coming detailing business hoping to get endorsed by revscene soon :considered: but even I know from my experience in the past they certainly should have owned up to it and dealt with it. Sorry about your negative experience in the future feel free to get to personally know me and my team and we can always help you guys out. Quite a number of people on RS are actually familiar with us already :)
