What if your on a steep hill, person pulls up too close behind you.... can't risk rolling back so use e-brake to hold you.:fullofwin: |
I shift out to neutral when I'm in light traffic, but heavy/rush hour, I always downshift, and occasionally heal toe, I find it depends on the car, and how long you've had it for. But I feel ya about the mazda, I used to drive my roomies mazda 3, and heal/toe'ing was an absolute nightmare. A note about the hill thing, it's funny, I was 17 and on a date, had only been driving my stick mustang for a month, and stalled out on the "hill" at the mcdicks drivethru, I was utterly petrified, and I could not for the life of me get up the damned thing without panicking, but that day, I learned about the ebrake trick. |
I rev match when slowing down from a high gear I only heel-toe on a down shift if i need to make a sudden stop, or when Im driving along and need to slow down asap to make a turn (this only happens when my passenger tells me to turn here at the last moment). i am never in neutral when the car is in motion |
