If the officer does attend, he will have no defense to present other than the belief that the law is unjust and therefore not applicable to him, which is completely invalid. | not at all, guilt is not about doing wrong or not, its about guilt being proven in the court of law - if the cop cannot prove that you were guilty with sufficient evidence, then the charge should not stand
now, before you provide some douche bag response about wasting time, money or w/e, consider this - innocent people have been convicted, people that everyone think are guilty have been proven innocent in the court of law. i know people who have been incorrectly charged by traffic cops, and then later (on my advice) gone to court only to have the cop drop the charges when questioned (cop didn't even realize he'd incorrectly charged him)
and going in hopes the cop doesn't show up isn't a defense, that's gambling, as i've mentioned, i'm talking about ACTUAL defenses based on trying to disprove any 'evidence' teh cops try to bring (it's fucking easy, by the way)
now, maybe karma is a different issue - but i'm not here to judge based on karma

It's always worth going to court regardless. Even if you're found guilty, one can still ask for a reduction in the fine. So if the opportunity exists, why not take it?
(This question is not aimed at the specific users who are popping up in this thread when typically you find them spending all day in the Police forum lecturing people over and over again, we already know what you're going to say)
Myself, I've been given a rolling stop ticket under similar circumstances. Mine was at 2am, slowed down to 99.9% stopped, looked all 3 ways (it was a 4-way stop), nobody else was waiting, off I go. Ghost car pops up behind me fines me $167 for that? A warning, sure I would have understood. But a fine? Piss off.

Doesn't have to be a defense.
I agree that everyone should dispute. In no way is it a waste of money.. That's like saying suspects in all other crimes should just confess instead of wasting court time. We live in Canada, and it's your right to dispute.

Happens every time there is a thread like this. The funny thing is, as soon as some people get a ticket, they'll be the first to say "fuck the system-how do I dispute this?"
We have a lot of grandmothers for a car site filled with mostly guys averaging age 25.

If you're guilty, you should be paying the ticket. Accept fault for your actions, instead of wasting tax payers money. | Your a cop arent you, cause you really want people to pay their tickets and buy your douhnuts and coffee.
Let me give you a ticket, then say have a nice day

odd how so many new members jump to the defence of the OP?
explain "rolling stop" to me.
to a cop stop means come to a complete, NON MOVING HALT for 2 seconds.
slowing down to a crawl before a stop sign/light is not the same.
