HID Xenon Conversion

Hi Guys,

I have a very stock 1998 Audi A6 (C5). It has the stock halogen DRL bulbs in it with some sort of stock projector (H7 bulbs i believe). I am interested in putting in a HID Xenon conversion kit, but there are a lot of options out there and I am not too sure what to look for. The dirt cheap eBay kits are not an option. Obviously getting the OEM parts would be the best option, but its super pricey. I am looking for a reliable solution in the $80 to $150 range. Can anyone recommend good brands or reliable kits available online? I have read that while some kits offer a 55 W option which is brighter, going with 35 W is more reliable and wont melt your housing. Is this true?

Thanks very much,

I got my kits from automotive accessory stores around the LM like Crystal Mall, Yaohan and etc. On my previous car I had a Philips kit (6000K) which included bulbs and ballasts, cost me about $80ish and it worked fine for me. I heard cheaper products tend to flicker and some can even melt your housing, so be careful on what you're buying

Try hidoutlet.ca, super garage @ Aberdeen Mall, or Reaction Performance @ Crystal Mall

Decent quality + warranty

Late to reply to this posting, but are you trying to swap the halogen bulbs in the projectors (your low beam) to xenon? The low beam for a '98 A6 is an H1 bulb.

You have a countless number of options but I would steer clear of the recommendation above (hidoutlet.ca). That "Philips" kit sold by HID Outlet is actually manufactured by a Chinese company called Hylux Technology so as far as "dirt cheap ebay kits" go, these are the same thing and they're just branded to dupe the unsuspecting buyer. Philips does not manufacture "kits"; it's a fact.

PM me if you want a high quality set-up for your ride.
