Bought my DRG 400 V2 and power magic pro from ASR today, couldn't be happier! Nice guy, took the time to test everything to made sure it all worked, even though I'm going to have my dad install it so we can switch it out between 3 cars. Great customer service, would definitely deal with him again when I can afford more! Just waiting to see if I can get a hold of some extra mounting hardware before I install mine.

Thanks for the super clean install.. .its amazing..wires are completely hidden...camera is awesome... parking mode is great.. motion detection works great...wow!

THese dashcams are absolutely invaluable..and ASR is the guy you can depend on to do an absolutely clean install ...definitely takes great care in doing this and treats your car like his own.

here's a short 1 min clip on the drive home..while still in Richmond.. chic in the white bmw decides to exit her parkade without looking...

^which kind?

FerrariEnzo 09-21-2012 11:15 PM

Do you have a side-by-side comparison of v1 and v2.. is it worth upgrading?

inv4zn 09-22-2012 12:07 AM

If you can sell your v1 at a decent price, then yes.

That's what I did. For me it was worth the $40 loss lol

cho 09-22-2012 12:19 AM

ill take your v1 for cheap ;)

Thanks for the after service help! Had a problem with my camera but turned out to be a simple connection loosening. William took time out of his lunch to help me diagnose!

Excellent work man!
Thanks for the install on my Blackvue dr380g

Short clip driving home..this is my biggest pet peeve on the road when people stop AFTER the designated stop line. Its pulled back a couple feet from the cross walk so cars dont have to DODGE you while turning left. ugh

i-vtecyo 09-22-2012 06:06 PM

bought a blackvue DR400g II from william a couple of days ago and the quality doesnt look as good as advertised? already set at highest quality and brightness set to normal. also compression set to normal.

New Dash Camera! Full HD 1080 Ready! - YouTube

I'd consider this pretty good quality compared to most other cameras (including point and shoots)

Flare is close to non-existent, noise is controlled very well; the only thing that could use some improvement is the blocky compression "twitching" that happens with low bitrate mp4 files

Try the Normal compression and normal brightness.
Usually, evening and early morning is hard for Blackvue to take good quality videos, same as the other dash cameras.

This video took around 7:00pm when the sunset was.
This is Blackvue and other manufactuer need to improve.

The thing that annoys me the most while driving - YouTube

When uploading blackvue videos, make sure to click no when youtube asks you if you want shake reduction in the videos.

That way it doesn't look like I'm :drunk: when viewing the videos LOL

Try installing VLC if you want to watch your Blackvue videos on your mac. iMovie's incompatibility with different formats is a PITA

FRStan 09-22-2012 08:38 PM

Viewing the video isn't a problem, you can use QuickTime.
But changing the settings on Blackvue (light color, sound on/off, display settings) rely on the software that is windows only.

Pretty sure I saw asr and his white evo with neon orange wheels today noon.
Thanks being so courteous for letting me park my car in peace and sorry for the wait
I was going to the Dinesty Chinese Restaurant with my grandparents.

You were in the TL? :fullofwin:No worries, buddy.

Weird problem with the powermagic pro...

The dr400 v2 won't automatically change to parking mode sometimes. It recorded about 8 hours worth last night while I was parking, all in Normal.

Then this morning at work for about 3 hours it did change to Parking mode and only recorded when there was movement. I'll check connections again...

Anyone else experience this?
