who the hell is going to pay $15k for ep3 these days..even low milage clean ITR can barely fetch that price

Lol just going with his "I can spend 15k on a car but I have unlimited money for maintenance" ideology.
Did you have one before? What happened to it that cost you that much if so?

oh, i didnt have one, but did some research on that motor out of curiousity...

(it was someguy offering me an 88' M6 to trade for the Z.. never got the deal going though)

just changing wear and tear parts, balancing the ITBs.. endless... parts are 3 fold more expensive than regular parts... and not to mention, have to find the right shop that usually deal with those motors..

E39 M5 are also in need of a "10k" service after 100k kms.. lots of little things here and there.. really adds up!

2001 BMW 740i Sport. Get one in the states for ~6-7k, ship it, fix what's broken.

0-140 vid, in a 95 non-sport, I think:

Oh, sorry, didn't see your list. How much do you have for maintenance again? Unlimited doesn't cut it, by the way.

He's right about servicing the m5 engines being expensive..the engine in the E34 m5 is basically a race engine. very demanding. not the type of car for someone that isnt going to stay on top of maintenance.

Yeah I always knew about the m division=3 times the maintenance price I just figured an interesting story behind it was coming. 3.8l NA engine putting out 340 back in 94/95 would have to be pretty high strung. Still boner inducing so much.

Local guy owns this one:

1995 Euro-spec BMW M5 Touring – Supercharged | German Cars For Sale Blog

Maybe he wants to part with it. Can't beat the fun factor with this one. You might not even want to sell it.

Heck, if I had 30k lying around, I would make an offer on his.

Yes I can easily afford the maintenance. I'm not here to flaunt about myself. I know how much it costs. This is not a long term car for me it's just something I need till I've got the budget for something exotic. The old beemers are nice but I'm not from that generation and I'm not attached to the looks at all. I love the throaty sound of a v8. Makes me jimp. Anyways guys thanks for all the posts atleast I have an idea of other sport cars in the range.

haha are you sure 'you' can?

when you say you have a 'budget' of 15k then say you can 'easily' afford ANY maintenance that comes along you know what that sounds like?

it just sounds like your mommy and daddy is buying you a car cause you just got your N - but nothing expensive yet! a learner's car. so they give you a number like 15k and you go around looking for any car that's fast but yet don't give a shit about maintenance cause you know your parents will pick up the tab for it.

not saying that's you for sure.. but shit that's what it sounds like.
