Sadly s2000s aren't worth very much anymore as I found out when I was selling mine.

nothing. let the man price his car accordingly :ilied:

but its true. S2000's arent worth as much as what people think. looking on CL or autotrader... any S2000 would be over priced for what they are asking. If it wasnt a great car as many have praised that it is.. it'll be worth way less than 10k.

Cdn Blackbook values those cars in average shape worth about 5-6k... and thats an 04 AP2

Jgresch 07-13-2012 12:20 PM

^ no they arent.... I am looking at BB right now lol

Energy 07-13-2012 12:25 PM

2004 AP2 has an average asking price of $14750 according to the cbb.

Jgresch 07-13-2012 12:26 PM

Asking price is different that BB value

+1

A car is only worth as much as someone will pay for it.

Energy 07-13-2012 12:29 PM

Hmm I looked at the asking price as opposed to the trade in value. Or am I not looking at the right place?

snails 07-13-2012 12:43 PM

wait till someone trades in their FRS after a few weeks! depreciation ftw!

I have seen it multiple times at the dealership, people drive cars 500km, decide its not for them and take a 10,000$ loss on the trade

ps, im aware its not v8 ;) but sick anyways!

Look at trade in value, that will be much more accurate.

Because that's what it's worth. :)

belaud 07-13-2012 02:28 PM

The saddest part is, AP1 S2k's are worth more then early gen AP2's :lawl:

my choice is a clk500. i've owned one before. lots of torque, plus you get nice luxury features since it's a mercedes. going from a 4 banger to a v8 is a huge difference. maintenance can be pricey, as i've had problems with the retractible seatbelt, a/c, heater and keyless smart system...

borat787 07-19-2012 08:31 AM

Lol I've got a car in mind with a maintenance cost that'll make your guys head spin. It's a bit above my budget but it's totally worth it. It's somewhat of a exotic. I'll update once I've purchased it :P.

After owning a 7 series, nothing surprises me.

Unless you are picking up on of those cheap Ferraris on CL.

belaud 07-19-2012 01:00 PM

Or those 80's porsches :fuckthatshit:

kwy 07-19-2012 01:43 PM

lol, my first thought was also cheap 80s Ferrari.

I immediately thought of this one

1988 Ferrari Mondial 2 Plus Convertible

And it's not bad if the maintenance budget is really unlimited. If money to fix was no object, and I was limited only by budget, I'd rock that!

GLOW 07-19-2012 06:50 PM

if that's the case next time you pull up next to him he can pull one of these :troll:

That looks an awful lot like this Mondial..it went through a dealership that I was working at in Abbotsford..no power steering, pain to park, but pretty cool car.

Might be the same car.
