if its the celica then a 6 speed gts is a must!!!!!!
tsx prob cost 75 to fill up and will get about 400kms a tank while the celica is about 65 dollars to fill up and gets about 430kms...
i recently sold my celica to get a tl because having a 2dr car was not practical for me. if you can deal with a 2 dr then the celica is great!

how do you determine whether a car is a slut mobile?
some say miata is a chick car, celica also, I have also heard TSX and SLK are chick cars, camry and ML are C-lai cars. What else? If more girls buy the new M3, would that become a chick car?

TSX isn't necessary fast. Pretty fat too. As least you can autocross the celica even though your grandma's Tercel can probably smoke it on a drag strip.
Only Acura I'd buy is a 3rd gen TL-S.

considering neither of these would be considered 'fast' cars, we can cross that off the list..
so what else matters? luxury? practicality? both goes to tsx
not to mention coupe's being more expensive to insure.
only thing the celica has is probably gas consumption but i doubt its by a huge amount, both being 4 cylinders.

My 6MT TSX has never failed me for the past 5 years and 91xxxkms. Only things for maintenance were oil changes, cabin filters, etc etc nothing has ever broken on me.
However, when it comes to mods, I really wish I had a 8th gen Si/CSX-S. Less weight, more aftermarket. When I wanna buy parts for the TSX, yes there are plenty of new parts out there, but they cost a lot more compared to the 8th gen equivalent mods, also good luck finding something used locally.
+
*Alright on gas for it's size
*Seats 5 comfortably
*Electric seats, AC, power windows, power sun roof, etc
*Very reliable
-
*Hard to find used parts locally
*Heavy car

TSX for sure, had one for 3 yrs and never had any problems besides regular maintenance.
Just to warn you though, it's a pig on gas and a heavy and slow car so don't expect it to be fast. |

only thing the celica has is probably gas consumption but i doubt its by a huge amount, both being 4 cylinders. | i had a celica gts and a 04 tsx. both cars are not "fast" but i liked the tsx more because it had more features, the interior is better and it was more practical.
i don't know if the gt model the insurance costs more or not, but the celica gts insurance was more for me since it was a "2 door sports car" lol...

Depends on your priorities. The TSX drives like a boat compared to a base model Celica GT (which I think has really sharp steering reflexes similar to a Mini Cooper.. I've never driven a DC2/DC5)

alot of people do say celica is a girls car but whatever chicks dig it! its a cheap car and gets attention so i dont have a problem there.
celicas insurence is pretty expensive.. i have 30% discount and the celica cost me 220 to insure a month while my 06 tl cost me 200.

Yeah, I am in need of a four door car, i'm not into speed but more luxuryish things because my Nissan Frontier is great for most things, but luxury is not a part of its strong qualities.
If everything pans out today, I should be driving home in one. I am really excited, im not too worried about gas consumption as I do not drive my personal car too often, its usually a couple times a week and just locally.

I'm shocked that a Celica GT would even be compared to a TSX. TSX hands down, in a heartbeat.

Sounds like you already bought it but one thing to look out for on the 04's is issues with the AC. If you check on Acurazine and TSXClub, you'll see some people mentioning some issues with the 04's requiring some costly repairs.
I've got an 05 TSX and I've been pretty happy with it. Had the Hondata reflash done along with the Comptech Icebox CAI and Comptech headers for a small HP boost. It's lowered slightly on Tein H Tech.
I can get a little over 500 km on a tank of gas doing mostly highway. City driving gets me about 430-450.
The only thing I've had fail on the car is the drivers side door actuator. That in itself was a fairly cheap fix (about $50 for parts) but other than that, it's been rock solid.

No one mentioned it yet, but the Celica has a curbweight of around 2500~ lbs.
I've never driven one before, but I can imagine it would make a TSX feel like a boat.
