~2001 Celica GT or ~2004 Acura TSX - what to choose.

So here's the thing...

I have always been in love with the Toyota Celica ever since they changed the body style to the most recent style. I love the way it looks however everytime I think of Toyota, I think Corolla. I know it's weird but I drove a 95 corolla for many years and for some reason it makes me think of cheap weak car. I have never driven a Celica before... what is also making me hesitant about this vehicle is I read that there are some problems with it burning up oil, transmission issues, etc.

however, I also have the option of going with the TSX since they are around the same price range. The pro's in my mind is that it will be a slightly newer vehicle, 4 doors, bigger car. I love the sleek look of it as well. There are no cons in my mind about this car. Also I have not heard of there being any problems with this car in general as of yet.

Opinions?? Experiences??

my sis got a 04 gt celica, its an awesome car fun to drive great on gas toyotas got great reliability. you have to decide whats more important to you two doors or four and think long term as well if you are planning or already have a family then four door is probably a better option.

cons for TSX
- lack of power & torque. car itself is heavy.
- not the greatest in fuel consumption 500km per tank
other than those.
It is a very reliable car without any major issue
its 6MT transmission is absolutely fun to drive.

fuck you all (girls really like it though... but that's a +)

dont expect to modify it if you get the GT there's no give in it it is what it is
GTS is a different story entirely

ive heard people speak of oil burning issues but not many and not people with a GT

This is the first thing that came to mind too.

Anyways, I'd go with the TSX without a second thought.

TSX all the way!
I faced the same dilemma when I was looking for a car about 2 yrs ago.
Decided to go with TSX instead of Celica. No Regret~

Imo, unless you get Celica GTS, getting celica GT is just not worth it.
0-60mph for GT is pretty slow for a coupe...and TSX 0-60 time is about the same or even a bit faster than the GT...On top of that, you get all the luxury gadgets and comfort from TSX...

Beside a stock celica without a bodykit or some moddings looks really lame.

However, if we are talking about Celica GTS, then this is a completely different story.

This is one of the best looking Celicas I have ever seen irl in Vancouver area.
