Hong Kong is more of a Laissez-faire economy due to British reign; the government does not take part in economic affairs much. Whereas China is obviously communist economy and government structure. Thats all that I know to my understanding.

Travelled to Hong Kong, didn't need Visa to enter, travelled to China, needed visa to enter. Therefore Hong Kong =/= China?

Hong Kong is part of China, it is undeniable. It may have a different political system, but every Hong Kong citizen is a citizen of People's Republic of China. What does it say on your HKID card, what does it say on your HKSAR passport.

People's Republic of China

What's keeping Hong Kong apart from China? 290 billion USD in foreign currency reserve held by the monetary authority. Without that PRC government will walk its ass into Legco if it isn't doing that already.

then why is there a border in between, why can't I use my HKID card alone to visit the mainland?

Might wanna have a small vacuum handy if you use this thing so you can clean up after lol, or else there's gonna be salt everywhere after a while

sonick 07-25-2012 10:50 AM

Don't shoot this at people in public, or you may be arrested and charged for... Assalt

:troll:

inv4zn 07-25-2012 10:52 AM

To be correct, shouldn't this be called the salt-a-bug?

I understand they were going for a pun with "bug assault"...but now it sounds like you're shooting bugs at salt =/

I just ordered 6 of them and will be giving some away for Christmas presents, but I don't have that many friends :alone: so I will have some extra to sell on RS.

14 more days for preorders, then who knows how much he'll be charging??

When people share about the product vocally, people will pronounce it as "bug assault". It will get people's attention more.
And "salt-a-bug" as a name sounds more boring and less "catchy".

So while this seems like a fun novelty item, I personally wouldn't want to be spraying salt all over my house, even if it's just a pinch.
And that's assuming I don't miss and more shots aren't necessary. It wouldn't be fun to clean at all... and no, I'm not going to just brush it off and leave it in my carpet or something. I find that uncomfortably "dirty".

T4RAWR 08-27-2012 05:36 PM

this isnt anything new.

farmers and orchard owners have used rock salt loaded into 12 gauge shells to chase away thieves for years.

i love the idea though, guess its cause im a gun guy :fullofwin:

PuYang 08-27-2012 07:30 PM

twitchyzero 08-29-2012 08:30 PM

looks fun but too much work to clean up...fly zapper is fun enough for me
anyone rcv it yet? does a pinch of salt actually kill the flies?

back on topic, I find it more amusing when HK folks tries to convince Taiwanese folks that Taiwan is a part of China...bug-a-salt on that injury

lol, this thread has been so derailed that "back on topic" means to go off-topic from the thread title (and subject)

I got 6 in the mail today. Don't need all of these, PM me if you want to buy one.

I feel like I went overboard with my purchase. LOL time to hide all of them in the closet, away from my gf.
