New cars under 30K?

know Hey everyone, I'm looking for a car or van under 30K. Its primarily a family vehicle so I'm not interested in a Civic SI or anything like that. Currently Ive noticed the Subaru legacy 2.5I for under 30k. Anyone have any new cars under 30k to recommend? And also, does anyone know of a reputable Subaru dealership? I'm looking at you...Richmond subaru...

tiger_handheld 07-21-2012 02:15 PM

neighbor bought a Scion XD for 20k

FerrariEnzo 07-21-2012 02:20 PM

What are your looking for?
Space? Econobox? Preferences to specific brand?

There are lots of cars under $30K

scion frs

Optima sx, elantra turbo.

Most sedans in that class are nice. v6 fusion not the best on gas but comfy and a lot of room

I'm looking for a mid-sized sedan or van primarily, the things I'm looking for are mainly reliability, maintenance costs and power. But I figured the legacy suited my needs but reviews about the dealerships were not so good :okay:

SpeedStars 07-21-2012 02:35 PM

Yeah, I'm pretty much evaluating the optima/sonata as well if there aren't any good dealerships around here.

Energy 07-21-2012 02:43 PM

+1 on the optima. Has power, looks, and lots of features for the price.

EvoFire 07-21-2012 02:56 PM

Camry or Accord. Can't beat them in terms of price, reliability, and fit and finish.

I had the new Sonata on a 3000km road trip, also test drove the Sonata Turbo. The base 4cyl doesn't have enough power, the turbo doesn't deliver 274hp, at least it doesn't feel like it. And fit and finish is not quite there. Doesn't quite have that feeling for solidness that Japanese cars can provide yet. My three year old Mazdaspeed3 feels more solid than the Sonata does.

2011 Sienna. Power trunk and sliding doors. You can fit a stroller in the back without folding it.

Mr.C 07-21-2012 03:19 PM

Ford Fusion. Solid, solid car.

Toyota Sienna too.

kwy 07-21-2012 03:27 PM

Hyundai might have some answers for you.

PornMaster 07-21-2012 03:42 PM

Camry Hybrid or Camry v6

FerrariEnzo 07-21-2012 03:48 PM

Though the Japanese car makers are good for maintenance and reliability, also comes with a higher price tag with few less options vs the Korean car makers

JDM > KDM > USDM

I would suggest the Mazda5, its a cross between Sedan/Minivan, But honestly, I like the model before they changed it.. the new one looks like a joker face.. haha
CX7 looks pretty good also..

I do also like the Elantra Sedan, buts its a small family sedan, Hyundai has lots of deals going on...

Anyone here have any experience with Richmond Subaru? I'm aware of their shoddy detail work (thanks belaud ;) ) but how does their sales dept fair? They currently have a 2012 model clear out right now :S

radioman 07-21-2012 04:14 PM

Are you set on getting a subaru? A lot of great suggestions but you seem to just ask about subura.

CP.AR 07-21-2012 04:19 PM

Impreza Hatch?
4WD for the sometimes stupid summers.
plenty of aftermarket parts if you want to have a bit of fun.

storage space if you ever need it!

As for the sales dept. of richmond Subaru.
They SUCK - go to Don Docksteader

ScizzMoney 07-21-2012 06:21 PM

I'd go with a Subaru Forester if you are looking for more of a family vehicle. At the very least, take one out for a spin.

SpeedStars 07-21-2012 06:21 PM

Yep, after much debate; im thinking about getting a sporty subaru. As for Richmond Subaru... My only reason to go there is their "model clearout sale" that they're having till tomorrow. Hope their sales dept isn't as bad as before :suspicious: but if it is, i'll probably be checking Specialty Subaru then Docksteader's.

Edit: *Forgot what model; it's a 2012 Legacy 2.5i with Premium package that I laid my eyes on.

belaud 07-21-2012 06:32 PM

Don't get a dark coloured car there!

Especially not a black STI
