Oversized Carry-on Baggage

Just having an enquiry whether I can hand-carry a 36" x 48" foamboard on broad? If it isn't allowed, what else can I do as it's very fragile, and it might be easily break if packed with any checked baggages.
I have tried to call Cathay Baggaging but no one answering the phone

thanks for the help !!

Thats def too big to carry on.... total dimensions cant be more than 45"

best thing to do is check it in as a fragile item... and wrap it with as much bubble wrap as you can

*since its 48", you might also need to pay oversized charges

Yep you are stuck having to check the luggage as a fragile item. The most important thing for you is to choose the right packaging, then you should have no worries. It needs to be strong and stiff. Consider a custom hard plastic case or even look at a wooden crate if you are really concerned. But also pay attention to the total weight to avoid having to send it by freight.
