Staying Active on Rainy Vancouver Days

It's been super sunny lately, but the rain always catches me off guard when I've planned a whole day of fun outdoor activities.

What are some of your favourite places to go and be active when it rains? (please don't say the gym, because that's not very fun)

Don't let the rain damper your fun! Grouse Grind, Buntzen lake hike, bike ride around seawall = less people out.
Or if you want to stay indoors, go to an indoor pool and swim.

Don't let the rain limit your fun. Ever try longboarding in the rain? Ultra slippery and mega fun! Just make sure your health insurance is handy in case you break your wrist.

Also, you can kick around a soccer ball, shoot a hockey ball against a wall... Really just wear a hoodie and what's Mother Nature gonna do to stop you?

A long run in the rain is awesome if you got the right gear.

I agree with running in the rain dude. It is absolutely peaceful and there is nobody outside.

Throw a hoodie on and go to a basketball court. Put some headphones in and tune out

I don't like dealing with the rain. I'm a big volleyball fan so usually I head inside to 6 Pack Indoor Beach.

Thursday night drop-in, ladies play for free after 6:30pm and guys are $15

fuck you for saying the gym is not fun.

the gym is like the funnest place there is.... most likely, you have been disillusioned by the shitty community centre gyms

on another note, there are a ton of indoor squash courts around BC and the best part about it is, you don't always need to have someone with you. If you're alone, you could always rally back and forth by yourself...

+1 for Grouse Grind. When it rains you usually get rid of most of the local idiots, tourist morons, and slow people.

I haven't went to the Grind for a few years and last time I went I noticed much of the trails have been refined with actual steps which is sad. The old grind was so much fun. Rougher trail + heavy rain = fun. Cold? Move faster.

Another thing that is fun to do: wash the car! The dirt soaks up from the rain so it should be easier to wash off.
