BMW e90 FMIC installation

Looking to swap out the stock FMIC with aftermarket one. I got quotes from couple of indep shops (CG, dixon, etc) but they were far more then I expected. Does anyone know a good/reliable shop with a reasonable rate? Thanks

Could you provide us a little more details as to what you were quoted? For example how many hours it would take to do the re/re and rate of labour? CG and Nixon usually go by the book but it would be helpful to have an idea of what you were quoted.

it isnt easy, and depending on brand, may need to modify front bumper to make it fit, especially if the aftermarket one is larger than stock.

I was quoted from 3.5-5 hrs with rate @ $100/hr. Most aftermarket FMIC requires a llittle bit of trimming of the shroud but most vendors estimate the installtion time should be around 2 hrs.

2 hours is a little optimistic. 3.5 to 5hrs is more realistic.

Which FMIC are you putting in?

I haven't pull the trigger yet but I'm thinking of AR or ETS or Helix

Realistically 2 Hours is very optimistic. Especially if there is some trimming that needs to be done.

If it just fits in place (uses stock fittings) you should give it a go yourself. It's really not too hard of a job. Just time consuming

goodluck!

the AR one definitely needs trimming...
