sorry that was a terrible ending...almost as bad as when deb caught lumen & dex through the plastic film but let them go
Spoiler!
horribly rushed...and laGuerta waking up was one of the least convincing thing i've seen in a while...holy crap that acting lol. Also, why would it make any sense for Dex to stage that LaGuerta killed Estrada after the fact that Dexter got off the hook? I knew Hannah wasn't going to jail...let's hope she doesn't hurt Harrison.
yeah if it wasn't for this finale...I would rate this season just behind season 1 and 4
last week's episode I felt was the best one yet in the series...1st scene was picturing him growing old with hannah...then last scene was the same background but with dex turning her in...and they really should've written the plot so that Deb actually did drug herself...or at least make it ambiguous but they killed that by letting Hannah admit her guilt. I guess the fender bender E36 didn't end up having any significance...shame..looks like they couldn't afford the production to destroy relatively newer BMW lol
There were so many plot holes
Why didn't they check the cameras of the evidence room when Dexter took Estrada's old shirt to frame La Guerta?
Also, why didn't La Guerta call in back up when she went to the docks?
She got taken down way too easily.
Anyway, there were some hilarious lines in this episode:
- I suggest you get on your knees and start kissing anything that remotely resembles an ass
- You got too caught up being an idiot
- Bullshit, you dont have any friends
- You dont even walk right, you glide like a fuckin lizard on ice
what a decent season. I really like the russian mob and that story line died really fast.
the ending was what it is. they only hvae one more season left and that's what it is. You can't be surprised about the ending when you know Deb watched his brother kill on last yr's finale.
Video's doesn't mean shit when you want to look at evidence, remember Quinn had to take evidence away from the room prior to trial? He said he needed to brush up the case before court and he was in there. In real life, you can't just go in an evidence room and take things out.
I really wonder what's going to happen next season, they tied off all story line with the exception of one. How can they fooking end this series on a high note... we just gotta wait and see.
Deb is so fooked, she's going to need decades of therapy

Interesting how Deb was also in a shipping container as was Dexter when he saw his mother killed. I wonder if this will be Deb's "transformation." I read on reddit that Deb's reaction after she shot Laguerta was unscripted and the director decided to keep it because it was so emotional. That reaction did leave a lot of plot holes. Would've enjoyed it more if she just told Dexter to finish Laguerta. Posted via RS Mobile
I'm glad they brought Doakes back for this episode. I forgot how amusing it can be when Dexter and Doakes interact.
The ending wasn't terribly good, however. As has been mentioned, there are too many plot holes and moments that go outside of even general Hollywood logic. I still feel that the Mob arc was the best part of this season and it realistically probably could have been stretched for the entire season without it starting to get old.
A better ending, in my opinion, would have been
Spoiler!
Deb shooting Dexter instead. I know to Deb family trumps all, but I think if she shot him, it would have been a little more real... if that makes sense. And that would leave a far better cliffhanger than what we were left with... not that there really was one.
Maybe Deb just shooting and it ends there. No one knows who she shot?
Sort of like breaking bad, then again, the audience was 75% sure, but didn't fully know.

lolwat
That would be more of a cliffhanger series finale--not a season type.
The show's called DEXTER, he's the main character. They're not gonna kill him off and continue the series without him.
Yea... as much as I love the series, I felt like I watched this season just for the hell of watching it on sundays... Nothing really got my excited or anything at all during the whole season..
Because of that I can patiently wait for the next season, hopefully its a lot better!
They probably need more masuka in it to make it better

You misunderstood, or maybe I just didn't explain it right. I don't mean have Deb shoot to kill Dexter. Rather, shoot him in the shoulder or leg or somewhere that would prevent him from escaping. That way, it would give the impression that Deb sided with LaGuerta and is helping bring him in for the murders he's done in the past. Dexter finally being cornered and rendered immobile, not just by his sister, but by the police captain as well, would have been the better cliffhanger. Hope that makes sense now.
I was discussing this with afriend and we came up with a bunch of things that we thought was dumb or things that could turn into plot holes if ignored next season:
Spoiler!
- The way Hannah got away... shouldn't she have been handcuffed because you know, she's just been convicted of murder
- The way Dexter just kidnapped the guy at the park by having the kids lure him... jesus christ
- The ending was messy. These aren't plot holes but are things I hope they answer instead of just pretending like they aren't important: How are they gonna cover up the murders? If the cars have gps, they can see Deb's car in the same place Laguerta died. Also, they have a record of deb calling the dispatch lady to ask where Laguerta's car was. Deb's gun was used to shoot Laguerta so unless they use the same gun and bullets, deb's gonna be toast. At the party, Batista knew that Dexter wasn't there (and Deb went to find him? I don't remember) so the time of death would correlate to when Dexter was missing, unless they have Dexter conveniently investigate the crime scene and change the time without anyone saying anything. If they just dump the bodies, Laguerta missing would raise a giant red flag as everyone knew she was investigating Dexter. And lastly, he's gonna cover the stab wound by shooting it? I'm no ballistics expert but that sounds ridiculous to me. Maybe it's a real technique. Who knows.
IMO the season started strong but ended poorly. The writing's gotten worse and worse over time.
covering stab wound by shooting it actually sound legit, provided the knife was small enough, the force of the bullet ripping through the body would destroy signs of a knife wound.
However cops use bullet that are design to not pierce the body
lol the more you think the more plothole there is. And I really don't see how they can work around the laguerta murder. way too many red flags.
now if the last season is dexter's downfall and everything comes crashing down on him that it would make more sense.
- The way Dexter just kidnapped the guy at the park by having the kids lure him... jesus christ
can't be worst than season 4 when Trinity's car broke down in the middle of no where...he goes and checks the engine bay then Dex pops outta fucking nowhere
Dokes is jsut awesomeness. Even the episode was called "surprise Motherfucker". That's pure epicness and totally Dokes.
Thanks to you all with the plot holes; it does make sense and brings up a lot of questions. I wouldnt say rushed but definitely WTF moments on HOW can that happen type question does ring a bell.
No reason to bring up anymore bad guys for the last season so I guess it's all about how Dexter has to tie all lose ends?
Baptista? Quinn getting caught and goes to jail / gets caught cheating with strippers with Baptista's sister? I don't know how they can end off on a good note to make things epic. Deb becomes a killer or Dexter ends up killing Deb? That's just way too far off.
Any ideas? Posted via RS Mobile
